Nice facilities, friendly staff. We spent a few hours at the hot spring pools here. They have 9 pools including a cold pool and a family pool for kids. The hot spring pools range from 37 degrees to 41 degrees and some have bubbles, massage jets etc. There is something for everyone. You are provided with towels and flip flops and a cap, you must bring swimmers. There is a free shuttle to get you to and from the MRT station. It is not crowded at all, we went on a Tuesday around lunch time and for a large part of our time there we were the only people. The one downfall however is that it is very expensive at NT800 per adult, unfortunately we found out after the fact that you can book adult tickets through Klook or KKday for half the price. The 4 star is based on booking at a cheaper rate otherwise the experience is too expensive at NT800 and NT550 for kids. We took our 4 year daughter and she was welcome there and had a wonderful time. She didn’t want to leave.

Look at the extrasI wanted an out of city hotel with easy access to the city, somewhere in a quiet location with access to local facilities. I stayed for eight nights at Spring City Resort in a room with private hot spring bath and with use of all hotel facilities. This was a good value for money honest hotel. The rooms look small but they are comfortable, the bathroom is large due to the spring bath which is a bit of luxury. The breakfasts were adequate, without being extravagant. The Japanese style restaurant is a good quality eating place. The bonus with the hotel is the free shuttle bus to the local metro station, it makes life easy, we used it every day. If you are going into the city take the bus to Beitou MRT, if you are returning late go to the Xinbeitou MRT then a taxi is around 100$.
Great hotpspring escape near Taipei!Spring City resort is a hot spring resort located in Beitou, roughly 30 minutes away from Taipei central. It's a great place to visit the hot springs without having to travel too far outside the city. Bear in mind, the hot springs at Spring City are not "wild" hot springs, meaning they are man made pools with hot spring water piped up from underground. That being said, we found the experience to be enjoyable nevertheless. The resort has a spa where you can get massages and have a private soaking tub. There are also hotel rooms with private soaking tubs. What they are known for however is the 9 outdoor hot spring pools. Access to the 9 outdoor hot spring pools cost ~$25 for the entire day, and we were lucky to go when they had a buy one get one free deal going on. Entrance includes a robe for you to wear, swimming cap, flipflops and and access to their locker/shower rooms. The facilities are clean, and the locker/shower rooms are well air conditioned. The outdoor pools are never too crowded and the water temperatures vary from pool to pool. We found that hanging out at the pool for 1-2 hours followed by a massage at the spa to be perfect. The massage at the spa is one of the best massages I've ever received. Each massage suite comes with a soaking tub with hot spring water, and you can choose to use it or not. I continue to recommend this place for first timers who don't want to venture too far for wild hot springs.

A nice resort hotel for hot spring relaxationWe re-stayed at the hotel in June and found it as enjoyable as ever. The good: - The hotel had lots of nice facilities so even though we stayed at the hotel most of the time without going out, we were not bored. - We were able to use the hot spring (water) in our room, very convenient. - Our room was large and commanded a good view of the swimming pool. - Our Room had all the facilities we needed, and it was clean. - We liked the welcome pineapple cake. - We forgot to take our clothes when we left, and the hotel found the clothes and Room for improvement: - There was no porter service, and we had to take all our luggage to the 6/F. - We could not book the shuttle bus service back to the hotel. We had to line up at the shuttle bus station on the day and waited, knowing that we might have to take another bus later. - The breakfast food was okay; there could been more variety.

Enjoyable Hot Spring ExperienceIt is a small and cozy hotel. In spite of some minor inconveniences (see below), I would still recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beitou, especially for a short getaway. Pros: • Overall, the hotel (including our rooms) is clean and well maintained. • In-room bath tub, private enjoyment of hot spring. • Provision of high quality toiletries, made of essential oil. • Outdoor hot tubs located within a neat and beautifully-maintained garden. • Free breakfast - a good variety of options ranging from Taiwanese, Japanese to Western style cuisine. • Onsite Japanese restaurant offers very authentic and delicious classical Japanese food. Cons: • No porter service for us, a family of 6 with a senior and a young child. • The elevator is so unbelievably small and cramped - only good enough to take less than 5 average sized adults. • The hotel room is pretty small – just good enough for a couple and a little kid.
