Only good as a bed and breakfast. Expected more for this price bandI chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Marriott where i had to attend an event and could not afford the Marriott. The hotel room is big and well laid out. It has a very nice oriental feel and design to it as well. The hotel staff were very cold and distant. The housekeeping woman refused to do my room for a reason i still dont know. I had to eventually request the front desk and it was finally done as a form of an obligation as if housekeeping is not done everyday (?) Internet is very slow and bad and the hotel does not have room service, laundry and other facilities. There were areas where it was quite obvious the hotel has not cleaned the room before my arrival and the room was probably unused for a while. If you are looking forward for a hotel with facilities and service, this is not the place for you but for a simple place to sleep for the night, it does the job well.
Gym needs improvementHad to take a point off for the poor gym. As many reviews mentioned it would take a small investment to improve the facilities. Not weights and add 2 weight training equipment and some mirrors and a tv
Capital Hotel TaipeiWe enjoyed our time at the hotel very much. After staying at one of the 10 highest rated hotels in the world (The Grand Hotel in Taipei), it seems the Capital hotel is trying to be just as good. They just might be. The included breakfast buffet gets 5 out of 5 stars. Our stay at this hotel was one of the best values we have had with any of our accommodations while in Taiwan.
Location is goodThe hotel is a little bit old but the location is good. 7 mins walking to the metro station, closed to the high way. Room is big and there are bath tub in the room. Reception is very nice. Good economic hotel.
biggest breakfast buffet ever!Very nice hotel, not right downtown, but near Fudan University. Some of our group walked over and visited with some of the students. Staff spoke English. Convenience Store about a block away, as you go out the front door to your left. very nice rooms!
