    Review of Buffet

The hotel is impressive. The lunch buffet was very good, not too expensive and had a good selection of flavors. It is located in the lobby, which allowed us to watch the many wedding processions occurring during Saturday lunch. Plenty of meat and veggie items (a separate veggie area as well) and numerous dessert selections. Includes local beer, and cocktails are nearby for purchase.

    Huge, comfortable rooms

The hotel lives up to its namesake, it is indeed grand! The guest rooms are surprisingly large (larger than some apartments I've lived in!), quiet, and very nicely outfitted; beds are comfortable and the bathroom was clean and everything worked well. The front desk staff was helpful and spoke English very well. As a general rule I take mass transit while traveling and there is a metro station less than 2km from the hotel, it's an easy and direct walk but there is no convenient way (that I found) to walk to the hotel without climbing a lot of stairs, so keep that in mind if you have luggage to carry.

    Grand in any possible way

Probably best hotel I’ve been to in Asia till now. Almost everything is in place, great looks, service, elegant, reasonably priced, well located to overlook Taipei city. The pie I player in the lobby was really touching. Didn’t have this kind of experience till now in Asia. If I return to Taipei, the grand hotel seems one way choice.

Spectacular hotel with an endless delicious buffet

Amazing hotel with friendly staff, Wall of dignitaries that visited, art, gardens And scrumptious Restaurants. We had lunch at the $30 buffet that was to be believed. Wonderful sushi, fresh seafood, dishes, salads, carving station, hot platters, desserts, ramen ... anything & everyone imaginable!

Great hotel - elegant, friendly service

First-time stay. The place is huge and the service very friendly. Rooms are very spacious and comfy, and the amenities are serviceable. Air-con is great. Turn-down service, on request. Super-close to the train station, although the walk can be challenging, especially if you have luggage. More than possible, though. A lovely temple near the station as well. Breakfast buffet is very good - very diverse range of dishes, both Chinese/Japanese and Western. Coffee machine, as well as a soft-drink dispenser. Scrambled eggs have corn in them, which probably explains why they're so runny. Tasty, though. The swimming pool is huge - Olympic size and probably used for diving in the old days, as the deep end is almost 10m deep. The lifeguards were disappointingly strict, though. Our son is a strong swimmer, but the lifeguard simply said no to kids past a certain point. That put our son off. Mostly lanes for swimming. And no diving/ jumping. No fun. NTD2,000 bond for incidentals. Free shuttle bus around the hotel. Into town as well(?).
