In the heart of Ximending DistrictWas there on their 10-10 celebration and a lot of people was in the area celebrating. Surprisingly, you can’t hear the noise from the street. Sound proofing is very good. Our room was located on the 7th floor and elevator is slow so be sure to wake up early if you’re joining a local tour group. We got the twin bedroom and it’s not bad. It’s very clean but the air conditioning unit is not cold enough and the temperature control is broken. The bathroom is also clean but there’s no handle in the shower area so getting in the tub is hard for elderly. And also the lobby is very small and there’s no seating area. Breakfast? It’s included but skip it not good. The hotel is very conveniently located. Good street foods are just a block away. Milk tea stores around the area. Missing your Starbucks fix? No problem, it’s just across the street, so is 7-11.
Immersive experience in XimendingStayed here back in early 2000s - on a tight budget as a student. And it was adequate for a bunch of kids on a shoestring budget, right in the middle of Taipei's youth shopping district. This property has since renovated and "upgraded" their rooms. Laminated hard floors, controllable air con units, small table unit with a proper bed and shower facility makes this an easy budget stay. Staff was friendly, and room cleaning was prompt and sufficient. Don't waste your calories on the included breakfast, as you are just 10 mins away from some of Taipei good local breakfast. As with typical hotel properties which seek to maximise units, all walls are thin and acoustic is poor. No prize for knowing how many kids your neighbour has, and when they are heading out for breakfast. Note that you will be staying right in the middle of Ximending walking district, so ambience noise and busy crowd definitely comes with it.

Location and service at its bestMy daughter gifted me with a trip to Taiwan for my birthday and allowed me the choice of hotel. I zeroed in on Rainbow Hotel and I don't regret it. We got to go around the touristy section of Zimending all because the hotel is at the very heart of the area that comes alive from noontime till about 10:30 in the evening. The area has a lot to offer in terms of convenience stores, shopping for the usual stuff, food (from milk tea, street food, and regular restaurants) and entertainment (theaters and street performers). The hotel may not be perfect but their service had somehow made up for their limitations in terms of food choices in their breakfast, bath towels that have seen better days and absence of features like bidet, rubber matting and hand rail inside their bathroom. I had a pleasurable stay with their staff who were friendly, helpful and solicitous. I would want to be back.
nice hotel convenient locationThis hotel is conveniently located at the centre. Staff was kind and helpful... stayed here three nights end of august. However, although they provided breakfast, it was limited choices and not enough seating in that tiny breakfast nook. Somedays, we just eat out which is good becoz near cafes.
Rainbow Hotel -TaipeiSometimes vacations can be challenging and unforeseen things come up as did with me during my stay here. But i must say that the staff at this hotel will take care of you. They are very responsive to your needs and concerns. Any issue with my stay here were more than adequately taken care of. Wanhua is a lively area and thats why people want to stay here.
