Amazing Location and Great RoomRainbow Hotel boasts of an Amazing Location. Right Smack in the Center of Ximending. The Hotel is quite small and was not expecting much but upon check in we were upgraded to the Rainbow Suite from the Family Room. The Room was Huge! It had 2 Queen Sized beds plus a Single Bed. Bathroom was Huge too. Room looked like it was newly renovated. It was bright, Cool and Comfortable. Breakfast at the Hotel was So So. Do not bother eating breakfast. Anyway, i enjoyed our stay at Rainbow.
Great location but....The location is perfect as it is in the middle of Ximending District. But the hotel is old, rooms are clean, but bathroom needs upgrading. I could hear the water pipes next to the wall where my bed was, so everytime someone showers or uses water, it's loud and can keep you up at night. Hallways echo when people pass by. No extra keys as the doors are still using doorknobs from the past where you need a "key" to get in, so no duplicates are provided if you are more than 1 in the room. Don't ever include breakfast when you book. The food they serve is terrible. We survived with bread, butter and jam, until we discovered we can go to the supermarket and buy bread, cheese and cold cuts, so we just take those with us when we go to the dining area for breakfast. The staff are very nice and friendly. The hotels price is cheap.
Quezon City, Filipinas
Taiwan AdventureIt is in the heart of the shopping district. Very accessible either by private car or public transpo. Hotel staff are courteous and very accommodating. The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning system is superb. The free breakfast not so appetizing.
Not so great after allThe location is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. There’s no sitting area at the lobby. The room walls are very thin that you are able to hear (loud and clear) movements from the corridor and the next room. There’s no hand bar at shower tub so there’s no support when getting out from the tub. Aircon temperature is not cold enough and not able to set lower than the controlled preset temperature. We have booked a twin beds room. The beds are on wheels with no headboard. So it tends to roll away (slightly) if you are sitting on bed with back resting on wall. Worst, there’s no peephole and ledge on the door. In all, basic needs in the room are met if you are not particular on the above mentioned.
In the heart of Ximending DistrictWas there on their 10-10 celebration and a lot of people was in the area celebrating. Surprisingly, you can’t hear the noise from the street. Sound proofing is very good. Our room was located on the 7th floor and elevator is slow so be sure to wake up early if you’re joining a local tour group. We got the twin bedroom and it’s not bad. It’s very clean but the air conditioning unit is not cold enough and the temperature control is broken. The bathroom is also clean but there’s no handle in the shower area so getting in the tub is hard for elderly. And also the lobby is very small and there’s no seating area. Breakfast? It’s included but skip it not good. The hotel is very conveniently located. Good street foods are just a block away. Milk tea stores around the area. Missing your Starbucks fix? No problem, it’s just across the street, so is 7-11.
