Great location, comfortable bedStayed at delux twin on 10th floor, facing the traffic (no noise) Pro - very comfortable bed. Best in all le meridian level hotels. Better than some 8 star hotels. Quality & mint condition sheets as well. - High ceiling makes room feels spacious - Very good location - great sound insulation Cons - not the best amenities ( we don’t usually use hotel amenities but even there soap is not a good quality! The cleaner didn’t bother to change for my whole 6 days of stay ) - there are always a wait for the slow elevator - they don’t have a good restaurant in house. But! If you have any issues, just talk to front desk. They are all very friendly and willing to solve the issues. Jimmy was one of the front desk member who was especially impressive. Overall, I was very impressed and I will come back.
Good but not as good as Le Meridian, XiamenA good hotel but visit made “interesting” by large tour groups which made waiting at the entrance to the lounge a bit of a pain. The staff in the lounge made up for this and the young ladies were nothing but helpful and polite throughout. The entrance and lobby feel a bit old and not at all welcoming. Evening buffet was good but not the best, nothing to complain about just not as good as in Xiamen for example.
It’s like staying in a suite roomPros: Big lobby Very clean hotel and rooms Fast elevators Great location Accomodating, kind, helpful staff Overflowing free bottled water Nespresso machine Free fruits and brownies everyday Turn down services Very comfortable bed Clean, big toilet and bath Bathtub Quite room Awesome view Fast wifi Cons Limited food selection at breakfast buffet
Unexpected quality of service for a 5 stars hotelBeing only for a short stay, I would usually be less fussy about a hotel but this upscale hotel certainly needs to improve on their service. As a Titanium member , I was given an upgrade as I checked in at the lounge. Small lounge but the setting and ambience is very cozy. However when I went to the room and the first thing I noticed when I went to the toilet is a piece to toilet paper left not flushed !! This is a big turn off. Room is very good and every thing is well hidden behind the cabinets which is something I liked. Another “mishap” that I wished to point out is that the sofa in the living room which is located above hanging lamp so that one can easily get hit when you stand up. Service at the breakfast can be better that when I asked for my tea, it has to be reminded after seated with my food for more than 5 mins which when I reminded the staff, he doesn’t give me the feeling that he felt bad about it. For a hotel at this price level, I would have expected better quality service .

Pros and cons of SPG hotel in TaipeiStayed in Le Meridien first time last week. Good location. Good size of the room and bathroom, I would say spacious, Equipped with Japanese toilet. With walk in closet. Easy to get taxi. Nice pieces of art. If you can use the executive lounge, I would say it’s the best in all SPG in Taipei, esp their shrimp dumplings during happy hour. It’s Exceptional. It’s also quite and not difficult to get a seat. Average: breakfast, shower(takes time to heat the water and sometimes, water drained slow), WiFi, Gym. Bad: nothing is really bad W hotel: Good location, hip hotel, Japanese toilet, sizeable room but not as big as Le Meridien. Lots of choices for breakfast with freshly squeezed fruit juice. Gym is very nice with lots of equipment and is new too. Best amongst all SPG Taipei hotel with one free group class every day!Wifi is good. Next to shopping mall. Average: executive lounge has nothing much. Need to change lift. Breakfast time can be hard to get a seat. Sheraton: Best location amongst all SPG hotel. Easy to get around Taipei. Very reasonable price. Executive lounge has good choice of food but sometimes it’s hard to get a table. The Shanghainese restaurant is Michelin starred and the food is really excellent. Most restaurants in the hotel serve excellent food Average: room size is small and bathroom is small. Breakfast has a lot of choices as well but I prefer W breakfast with the noodle station. Bad: the gym is old , small and lots of people. Equipment needs to be replaced.
