An experience once is more than enoughStayed at Ximen Citizen twice during our trip to Taiwan, first time in room 702B and the other time in room 203B. Room 702B had a pillar in the room and it was really blocking the way, and there was only a standing clothes hanger at the corner. Room 203B layout was much better with proper wardrobe rail for clothes hanging. Overall the hotel rooms were old and dirty. Also had a bad experience of losing my plug adapter in the hotel while staying in room 702B. I left it at the table beside the bed and went out, upon returning, housekeeping was done but that adapter went missing! When we lodged a report to the frontdesk and they said they will check with the housekeepers, and as expected the reply (nonchalantly) was the housekeepers said they didn’t see it. Although the item is not expensive, but I don’t feel secure staying in this hotel after this experience. Below are some other issues observed with the hotel • Only one lift so be prepared to wait. • Uses actual key instead of keycard, not sure what era it is now, but it is not efficient as only 1 key is issued out. • Shampoo and shower gel labels have faded, time to get it replaced. • No hooks in the toilet to hang clothes/towel. Can only hang on the shower room door handle bar. • No peephole on the door. • Shabby housekeeping. One incident where the socks I wore for sleep and placed on the side table before leaving the room was found on the floor on return. • Toilet shower room glass flimsy, major safety hazard! This is more for room 702, whereby the magnetic attraction was so strong that much force is needed to push open the door, and when its done, the glass will vibrate massively and it feels like it can break anytime. However this issue is not faced in room 203. • Sink is too close to holder, unable to bend down to wash face without hitting the head. • Holes in the bath towel. Do they even check them before providing to the guests? • Only provide 2 hangers for 2 guests in room 702, but there were 6 in room 203. Minimally 4 hangers should be provided in all rooms. • Differing standards of room as exemplified in the previous point. • Inflexible check out policy. Additional 1 hour charge NT200, 30 mins charge NT100. They give 10 minutes FOC though. Not all is that bad, some pros • Location. Not that far from the MRT, just one straight road walk to the heart of Ximending. Really bustling. • TV has many channels. • Bedroom slippers replaced everyday. They remove our old slippers everyday, but its kind of like a wastage as we don’t need to change slippers everyday. • Comfortable bed Overall, feel that there should be other better options in Ximending. Do not recommend this hotel.
Great locationWe stayed 5 nights with my family of 3. Stayed in a room with 1 double bed and 1 single. Highlights: Location extremely convenient... super near shopping (ximending), restaurants, train station, 7-11 and family mart. 7-11 is the best!!!! It has everything! - Beds were comfortable, generally clean toilet with amenities, - had all necessary amenities for standard stay. - quick checkin and check out process. - there was a noodle shop right at the ground near entrance. Loved their dumplings and noodle soup. LOWLIGHTS: - bathroom had no bidet and shower door had molds along rubber but in general toilet clean - some days towels had huge holes and torn - bad view and kept the blinds drawn for duration of stay so you might as well get a room with no window. - walls thin you can hear your neighbors - they don’t implement no smoking even if it’s a no-smoking floor - breakfast okay.

Con amigosI checked in here on 10/4 Wednesday ; stayed a night and we checked out to other places according to our ground tour arrangement. 1st night seems OK. Rooms are very small , twin bedroom . Returned to this hotel on 14/4 Sunday night ; everything seems OK for the first night . Room 603B. To my horror , on the 2nd day , 15/4 Monday night , when we are back to our hotel, late at night , when I finished my shower, I reached out to take my Bath Towel, to dry myself , wipe my body halfway and saw the holes in the middle of the towel.. OMG😱, the Bath towel are so Old , Torn in the middle... with few holes .. take a clearer look at it and seems like old towel & dirty . Bathroom lights are dark, can’t see clearly , dimly light .. walk out and saw .. WTF... my room partner was laughing out loud LOL.. I was so mad and skeptical whether is it the floor towel ? How come they can fold it and put as Bath towel for the guests to use !! Do you know we paid for Rm320/night for 4 nights stay here and this is the treatment we entitled to ??? 😡😡 I called and complaint immediately to the receptionist , eventhough the time was 1230am midnight !! I said to the guy , how can u give us this kind of Torn Bath Towel?? What is your housekeeping standards ? Location is Great & Convenience . BUT this old towel makes me sucks! I still have 2 nights stay here until 18/4 Thursday ... Pls ask the management to do something on this matter or compensate me ...
Citizen M Hotel TaipeiThe rooms are small, new and very efficiently designed, with all amenities, fridge and hair dryer included. Every possible use of space is employed. The beds were comfortable, views excellent, staff very helpful, and breakfasts very adequate. Good value for Taipei ! Situated right next to the North Gate and Central Post Office.
Ideal locationSimple hotel with basic amenities. Comfortable beds and bathroom. However the room was small and breakfast was simple too. Walking distance (10 min) to main shopping area and metro yet quiet zone from the noise of ximending area. Overall good for a 3 star hotel.
