solid hotel, except for breakfast, and not in the most exciting part of town.this is a good hotel; definitely not a 5-star, but surely more than a 3-star. The service is good, with the exception of the restaurant. I had a number of interactions with the front desk, all very positive. the housekeepers were friendly, and did a good job. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant - La Fusion - 5 days. All the restaurant employees, without exception, were not friendly. They were not rude, there was just a total absence of warmth, no smiles from anyone. Whoever is in charge of the restaurant has a serious morale problem there. My other complaint about the restaurant is the food quality = really poor. There's a huge assortment of buffet options, both Western & Asian choices, but the food lacks taste.. I wouldn't rate the hotel breakfast buffet any higher than a 1. It is a blemish on an otherwise good property. The business center is terrific! the fitness center, not so much. I didn't like the equipment, and it was claustrophobic --- too small a room. Zhongzheng is in an older part of the city, not near the attractions, other than an easy walk to the wonderful, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial. Taxis are easy to get, and inexpensive, but most of the drivers don't speak English. there are two ways of getting to/from the airport. you can take the train to/from Taipei ( the MRT ) Central Station, and from there, taxi to the hotel. this costs TWD 265 ( USD 8.59 ), or you can take a taxi the entire way, for TWD 1200 ( USD 38.91 ). by taxi, direct, it takes 45 minutes.
Great Hotel close to Tourist amenities.Beautiful Hotel just off very busy traffic junction but as it is set back from the road, is nice and quiet. Helpful Staff multi lingual and friendly but professional. Lovely large room, well equipped and good daily housekeeping. A particular positive of the Hotel was the breakfast with an amazing selection of hot and cold fresh food. Within walking distance of Chaing Kai Shek Memorial and Longshan Temple, close to shops and restaurants.
Quiet and a very good hotelTaipei garden hotel is a very good hotel. It is 15 to 20 mins walk to Ximen station. The hotel is near the longshan station as well. Across the street is a 24hr Carre Four grocery, McDonalds and Starbucks. The rooms are very good with comfy beds. We occupied a triple bedroom. It has an area where you can put your luggage and shoes. The bathroom was quite big with rain shower. It also has a small tub area for 1 person. Breakfast was also good though it serves the same set everyday. Staff were quite friendly too. The elevator carpet changes with the text hello in the morning and good evening at night. Two small comments: We arrived at wee hours in the morning (230am) as we had a red-eye flight and no one assisted us inside, maybe they were sleeping. The only person available was at the front desk. Second, the carpet on our room had some hard dirt, which i accidentally stepped on without slippers and gave me a small wound on my middle toe. Overall, it was a good experience.
excellent service, very busy locationThis is a rather busy hotel in an area with heavy traffic. However, you can walk 20m to National Music Theatre area, walk 17m to LongSun Temple and some other night market, walk 10m to Taipei City University, and 5m to many eateries right behind the hotel. Crossing a very busy, huge intersection, you can shopped at Carrefour Market. I must admit that I prefer to stay at other "quasi-apartment" hotels in quieter areas if I had the choice. The hotel's staff are all very friendly and responsive. Most of the time, the free wifi had not been adequate for a smooth Facetime chat. If you use an Uber ride around town, choose a spot that you can be located easily and text the driver to indicate where you are with a clear landmark ( e.g. I'm at The Garden Hotel entrance). Most taxis you wave down on the street only accept local NT currency.
Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar
Lovely hotel...I will write the negatives first, as they are both quite small. First, pool area is closed, but we did not see any notice of closure until we actually arrived at the pool. It was raining, so not important. Second, the carpet in the room could be a little cleaner. The room is just a bit dusty. Now I shall list the positives: First, the staff is bilingual, helpful, professional, and ALWAYS makes an effort to inform, solve problems, and make the stay perfect. Second, the breakfast: WOW! We loved the breakfast. I cannot imagine any guest not being extremely pleased with the food, service, or ambience. Third, the hotel functions extremely well. Elevators are fast, housekeeping is thorough (except for the room carpet - which is likely ready for a shampoo,) concierge is smart and responsive, and the in-room technology will work for just about any guest (multiple USB chargers, etc.) Strongly recommend.
