NOT SO "BEST" HOTEL!W5 Best/Li Duo Hotel was by far the worst hotels we have ever stayed despite a joint promotion with Singapore Airlines! 1. Basic safety was not met! The door has only a standard lock. No other security features such as a view hole or other additional security features! 2. The glass partition between the bathroom and the bed was really filmsy and shaky! 3. Having a Japanese style WC means you can wash your ass after a big business but the WC cannot even was for 5 seconds! 4. The towels have holes on them and different hotel names! 5. We were told that breakfast will be available till 10am. At 9am most food were not replenished. An elderly staff told me to take the rice(for breakfast?!) instead of congee! 6. We checked out on our last day (thank goodness!) and returned 1 access card. The lady asked for the other access card which we could have left in the room. We checked our belongings but couldn't find it. Then the lady told us in mandarin that we have to pay TWD200 for the missing card. So we paid for the missing card and left! We swear we will never return to this horrible hotel! Do think twice before you book this hotel!
some of the usual and some of the unusualTaipei is such a city that the infrastructure is up to a high standard with workmanship to match that so all hotels are not bad, and this one is no exception. Guest rooms are functional, clean, nothing really to complain about considered the room charge. But our check-in to the hotel experienced one of the poorer attitude receptionist that I won't go back. In fact, one of the better features of the W5 hotel is that it is across the street of a rather interesting hotel Papa Whale with good restaurants inside the premises.
Best stay in TaipeiWe really enjoyed our stay here at W5 best hotel! Located at a very good place and very friendly staff. Hotel rooms are very spacious and clean, it had everything we needed and we were very lucky that we found this place.
Holiday in TaipeiW5 Best Hotel is situated in the middle of two MRT stations. It is slightly closer to Ximending Exit 6 or Exit 4 The other station is Taipei Main Station. This station is also connected to the Taoyuan Airport. I love the location of this hotel. There are many eateries around it at all hours of the day. The hotel staff were Aldo very helpful and courteous. They would stand up to greet you whenever they see you at the front reception. The following staff deserves a special mention: Sean, Linda and CoCo. They were especially sweet and accommodating when approached for directions and gave recommendations of famous and interesting places to visit. The breakfast was adequate and delicious although the spread was not very elaborate. There is a freshly grounded, coffee machine where you can have your coffee fix any time of the day. I enjoyed it a lot. Originally I booked only 3 days but decided to extend up to 6 days after checking in for the first time. I strongly recommend this hotel. Hudson Neo 13 July to 18 July 2019

Good & Quiet LocationIf you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Ximending this hotel will be ideal, it is located in quiet neighborhood about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the center of Ximending, the nearest metro station is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, the staff (fluent in English) were very courteous, attentive & helpful to the needs of the guests, there is a 7-eleven locate a block away, also there are several food stalls nearby for a quick meal, breakfast provided with minimum choice (bread, steam bun, porridge, stir-fry vegetable, salad, rice, soup, scramble eggs, milk, tea, coffee & etc.), wifi was decent in the room, the rooms are a good size and well designed, with a well stocked mini bar and snacks that are free to the guests, overall the hotel is well maintained, and is reasonably full serviced.
