Not For Everyone, But They Deliver Exactly What They Promise

I stayed at CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch III for a few days on a solo vacation. To be honest, I was sad to leave, and would have preferred to stay longer! This hotel focuses on a specific concept for a certain type of traveller, and executes it to perfection: If you're looking for a very functional and efficient place to stay, and you'll mainly be there at night to sleep, this hotel is perfect for you. Especially if you are travelling light, this hotel was made for you. Whereas if you plan to spend more time in the room or spread out into a more spacious location, you should consider other options. This hotel's website and advertising are the most accurate I ever recall having seen, as they do not exaggerate nor undersell what you're getting. I stated in the 'Elite' Room, and the website description and photos were absolutely accurate. They don't show photos of the washroom, but it's actually quite modern and there is nothing to complain about. It features one of those advanced Japanese washlets, so you may never need toilet paper. I was travelling with quite a big suitcase and some other bags, so it was a tight fit. My suitcase barely fit on the provided luggage stand, and I had to take over part of the bed when I wanted to open it up. This was just a minor inconvenience. That said, there is no real closet or drawer space for anything, so you'll definitely be living out the suitcase. They do provide a bar with hangers. The desk space was also a godsend when breaking out my notebook PC, especially compared to some of the tiny 'desks' in other places I stayed. Note that most computer mice won't track on this glass surface, so I had to use some random paper as a mouse pad. Also, I appreciated the real Ethernet jack. What I liked: - The level of English spoken by the hotel staff was very good, intermediate to advanced. In general, the staff were extremely professional, helpful and proactive, and one of the overall best parts of staying here. - Laundry: They have free washers and dryers, 3 of each, with a well-organised reservation system. I was so happy to have access to these machines! These are Asian style machines, meaning that the dryers are pretty weak compared to typical North American Dryers. - Cleanliness - The place was really clean, and the maids were very friendly. I cannot complain. - Elevators - I almost never had to wait. The elevators worked very efficiently. - Free snacks - A small kitchen is available, where you can prepare your own foods, and eat a few free snacks like a small selection of instant noodles, etc. They provide a coffee machine and some other drinks. (This hotel has no restaurant, but there's lots of nearby food options.) - The safe box in the room was attached to the nightstand! (The nightstand could technically be lifted up.) - They have a clever light switch system in the room, in which colour coded touch-screens throughout the room show you the on/off status for each light. They are all interconnected, and you can touch the necessary name for each light to turn it on and off. Very cool! - They provide large bottles of shampoo, body wash and hand soap, rather than the tiny disposable versions. - Despite having a room overlooking the main street, I didn't experience much noise at all. In general, this place was very quiet. - The WiFi internet was strong and fast. Actually they also provide and Ethernet jack! You need to supply your own cable. - One of the small touches I really appreciated was the quality of the free bottled water - The plastic bottles they use are much stronger and nicer than what you typically see for hotel-provided water in Asia. I actually kept one of bottles to reuse, and was even pouring other bottled water into the CityInn bottle because it was so much better! What I did not like: - The safe box in the room was really small, one of the smallest I have seen. It was not possible to store my 13" notebook PC in the safe box. - No real drawer / cabinet space for clothes or anything else. In conclusion, CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch III certainly exceeded my expectations, and this chain of hotels will definitely be at the top of my list if and when I return to Taipei. If you're basically looking for a really good place to sleep while you're on a trip, this is a fantastic option.

Back to home Friendly staff location is great !

I had stayed at this hotel 4 times when I was in Taipei not far away is 寧夏夜市, they don’t provide breakfast in the hotel, but around the area that is a lot of nice breakfast stall. Their room is very comfortable as well as their receptionist staff like Ores, Wayne, Abby very friendly and helpful when you face any problem they will help you to solve or give any suggestions, and don't forget Joanne who always helps me for my booking and arrange the room that I want. I will come back to this hotel again for my next trip to Taipei. Keep it up a Great Job!

A conveniently located hotel near to the Taipei Central Rail and Bus Stations

Good hotel with a very polite and helpful staff. But we are still in a season with temperature hovering around 23 to 28 degrees C and the duvet in the room is almost 4 inches thick. Too hot, particularly when the AC is not good, difficult to set the temperature and the air outlet is all over your bed, creating disagreeable unpleasant air draft all over your body. The strange AC cannot be set at 24 degrees and is stuck at 22 degrees. I had my bald head so cold during a night that I woke up and had to cover it with a tshirt to deflect the AC.

Great location near Taipei Main Station and bus terminal. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Reception is welcoming and efficient. Staff speak English and are helpful. Free snacks and coffee are available in the lobby. Self serve laundry is free. Overall an excellent hotel, we'll definitely return next time we visit Taipei.
