    stinky place

Before coming here I stayed in next door city suites, which is a great hotel. So coming here was a bit of a shock. The entrance is from the side street, a bit hard to find. Entering the elevator was not promising, it had a bad smell already and the building looked old. Reception on the 6th floor was a little better. Receptionists were friendly and spoke good English. One of them led me to my room 713. After the first step into the room, I should've just asked for another room, but I didn't. Lesson learnt for the future... The room was so stinky, that it made for very unpleasant stay from 11pm till 7am, when I left for the airport. I didn't sleep well there at all. It seems they renovated the upper floors of an old appartment building into this hotel. There are no European style electric outlets for charging. The mirror in the bathroom is so low, I had to bend down while shaving (I'm only 174cms). No breakfast. Better go next door to City suites Nanxi.

    Very Interesting Stay

I have always wanted to sleep in a hotel room with Hello Kitty characters over my bed. With that said, I had an interesting stay. My room had no windows but keep an open mind and you can find it a quiet place to stay. Finding the hotel will be tricky if you don't have google maps - even that didn't help me. It is a 15 minute walk from the RMT but it didn't feel so bad with luggage. I didn't find much places to eat near the hotel, but the supermarket around the corner was helpful. I often walked to the Taipei Main Station to eat. Overall, it was a fun stay at 191 Hotel. I felt safe and despite being a bit away from the usual tourist spots, I enjoyed visiting a different neighborhood. Staff were friendly and the 6th floor hotel felt a relaxing and quiet place to stay.

    Clean good value hotel

This small hotel is on the 6th floor and is accessed from an entrance lobby in a side street. So not obvious from the outside. The location is good with the main station only 15 mins. walk away. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Clean with very comfortable beds. Our room was flamboyantly decorated with a very 'cute' Hello Kitty theme. This style also extends to the reception area and corridors. We stayed here at the beginning and end of a 2 week holiday tour of Taiwan and the staff were so friendly it was like coming back home when we stayed the second time. Many rooms do have windows (obviously windowless ones are cheaper), the WiFi is good and second room keys are available with a small returnable deposit. The only strange thing was them saying that a late checkout fee would be more than the cost of another night's stay!

Convenient location, clean room, friendly reception with free wifi

Stayed in room 626 for 4 nights (11-14 Dec 2017). I like below points: 1) It is near both Taipei Taoyuan airport express A1 or Taipei Station Y21 exit and Zhongshan metro station exit 5. You can walk to hotel in relax way within 15 mins as mapped attached. I would suggest to use Y21 exit if you take taoyuan airport express to arrive taipei station and Zhongshan exit 5 for daily sightseeing so you don't have to walk long way before arriving taipei metro station to/from hotel. 2) room is clean, new and with necessary facilities included (2 tea and 2 coffee bags, hairbrush, toothbrush, razor, shower cap, cotton swabs, TV, tissue box, fridge, electric kettle, paper slipper, hangers) 3) free wifi 4) daily room cleaning service 5) free two bottle waters daily 6) free water dispenser, free tea and coffee bags near reception area 7) nice decorated corridors and common areas 8) friendly reception with fast check in and check out service 9) free self service laundry room I don't like below points: 1) security deposit box in room is not working 2) tea and coffee bags are not be refilled in daily room cleaning service 3) room is really small which may not suit for travellers with large luggage. 4) no window 5) the bathroom is small and without any hangers for putting clothes, and the bathroom are built with frosted glass so lack of privacy if you are not staying alone. 6) only 1 key per room

Amazing hostel with very affordable rates!

The building entrance is on the side, building facilities are a little dingy and old, but wait till you reach the 6th floor, it's a different environment altogether. Nicely decorated room with very clean bathroom. Small but cosy, clean bedsheets and towels, every facility you expect from a proper hotel you can get it at this hostel, all in a very affordable rates. They even have a free laundry area, with detergent provided! Free flow of water and coffee/tea sachets, staffs were very helpful and professional! All in all, we had no complaints! Great little gem with a night market next door, which is awesome for food after some heavy drinking sessions! Oh, did I mention it is very affordable too?
