Visit Taipei 7 Days in March 2018I just want to say this guest house is too good to recommend, i travel around the world with my son who is just 10 years old, this guest house provide all the service that i need as budget traveler, privacy and they clean the area daily so i like it very much, it is in the center of 2 major station: Taipei Main Station and ZhongZheng Station , a morning market which sell a lot of local food is nearby too, the freg is big so we buy and store in the refrigerator and cook for a week stay, safe a lot of money.
Metro Manila, Filipinas
Convenient Location, Great ServiceWhat I really appreciate about this place is that they allow their guests to leave their luggage before of after checking in (saved us money rather than leave our things at the Taipei Main Station). I also admire their security system (don't be deceived by the old building look). My friend and I got the private room as we were not so keen on sharing a room with others (mainly because we couldn't just spread our things everywhere haha). It was small but I guess it was just the right size for us and our bags. I also commend their shared T&B; they were kept clean all the time. There's also free water, coffee, and tea, perfect for always-on-the-go travelers like us. Moreover, we love its convenient location, which is about a 10 to 12-minute walk from either Taipei Main or Zongshan station (same time for Nin Xia Market, so please don't forget to go there). Overall, I highly recommend this place for its proximity and great service.
Kind of isolated but near metroIt is located near the metro. There are lots of establishments around but it gets creepy and dark at night when all of them are already close. If you want a quiet night then this is your place. But if you want to party and be have fun at night, I suggest booking a room in xiamen area.
I can't recommend this hostelWell, if your really on a budget and only planning to stay one night...and your young...maybe it's something for you. But I did not like it there. Small rooms and not really enough space for your stuff. It's clean and the kitchen looks ok and there is a sofa. Loads of asien travellers who kept to themselves. There was no talking to each other. My dorm was really smelly too. The shower and toilets are really small. It's at the 13th floor of a building....what really enjoyed me was that it was advertised as being inside the Taipei main station (were I booked it at the air Asia website) but it isn't. Main station is in walking distance. 10-15min depends how fast you are. It took me ages to find it as there is only a very small sign outside the building. It's right on a main road. Small elevator will take you up. I did not encountered any staff...as I booked in advance there was a basket with a key and bed linen waiting for me. The beds are really uncomfortable. I simply hated the place so much that after 7 hours I left and booked myself in a nice low price hotel as I simply couldn't stay there any longer. (The picture I uploaded is the view out of the bathroom/washingroom window)
Worst experience in yearsThey do not let you have the AC remote control to set the room temperature, so the hostel room is at 30+ degrees. Even if you ask them to turn on the AC, they will set a timer which turns off the AC in the middle of the night, so you wake up by the super heat. And if you try to open the window to cool down a bit, then comes the huge noise from the street which makes you impossible to sleep. They even hide a small fan not to let you to use, are they trying to save electricity or what?! The result is: the extreme discomfort, every night like sleep in a sauna room. I have never seen a hotel/hostel like that!! They also claim they have breakfast---a lie! They pretty much do not provide anything! Except throw you a bed sheet&blanket cover at you when you check in, and you have to put the bed sheet&blanket cover yourself. Staying in this place was the worst experience in all my entire 20+ years travel history.
