Clean, comfortable, cosy - best hostel stay

Visited twice within this year, 2019 (first in July, then in October). Overall Star Hostel experience: Amazing space. Main area was awesome to wind down after a long day out. There were movie nights and Switch nights too - not too much social interaction but just enough if you want some. During both stays, found the people to be friendly yet mature; not the young rowdy drinking crowd, which was a big plus for me. Facilities were well maintained and clean. Both en-suite toilet and shared toilets were spotless. I really appreciated the gestures to be environmentally mindful. Breakfast was welcoming. Not too big a portion and were happy to accommodate my dietary requirements. Great location. Within five mins walk to the airport MRT and bus stop, as well as high-speed rail and local subways. Amazing food around such as fried milk donuts, 50 Lan bubble tea, Sando House, and Sihai soymilk. Very close to 711. Best thing for me was the market nearby. You can find fun souvenirs, clothing, local snacks, and a hidden gem of a coffee called Daily Pleasure Cafe (barista's kinda cute hehe). Room - 6-bedder dorm: Very well-spaced on the fifth floor. Bed space had charging points as well as USB ports. As with most Asian hostels, each bed has a curtain that gives you the privacy and darkness you need to sleep. Really loved the windows that greeted the morning sun. Adequate-sized locker for your luggage. Room - En-suite double: Loved this room. Not the biggest but big enough for two girls. Clean and comfortable. Also loved the morning sun. A lot of charging points and there's a TV (didn't find a reason to turn it on though).

The BEST hostel I've ever stayed at

I loved everything about this hostel. It was extremely clean, stylish, well-designed (in form and function), thoughtful, cozy, efficient, value for money, comfortable, convenient, secure, centrally-located. The staff were always friendly and helpful too. I haven't stayed in a hostel dorm in a while so I was a little wary that I booked a dorm this time, but I totally did not mind this one at all. In fact, it far exceeded my expectations. The mattress and linens were super comfy, and I love that the rooms were spacious so you get enough privacy. Loved hanging out in the lounge area too, so many little cozy corners to tuck yourself in and get comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious — definitely a great bonus! So happy I booked here and will definitely be back the next I'm in TPE.

    · Very clean. Room was big enough and shower ass well. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was maybe not really filling but it was tasty and a perfect start af the day. Staff was friendly. Ik left my luggage for 3 days in storage while I was traveling to Taichung. It was nog a problem at all. Laundry is on the roof. Nice to sit for a while as well. Really close to the main station. And airport mrt. Food court is 5 min walk. In the Q square and the breeze in the main station have enough choice to eat. In the same street as the hostel you will find lots of eateries. And a 7-11.

    Excellent Experience!

I love the atmosphere and design of the whole place. Super clean and cozy. We booked a room for 4 with en-suite toilet, but very clean shared toilets are avail outside as well. Beds were clean and comfy. Hair dryer and iron available on request. The female shared bathroom has 2 cubicles for showering and 2 cubicles for doing your business. You might have to wait or queue to shower sometimes but other than that, toilet is really clean ,fully stocked with toiletries like shower gel, shampoo , hairdryer etc. There is a shared lounge area with many cozy corners for you to hang out or do your work. The kitchen area has a few fridges , washing area, microwave , toasters, hot water. A simple free breakfast is provided everyday , but those with a bigger appetite might want to head out for breakfast on your own. 7-11 is just across the road. Right beside the hostel there is a quaint little store selling Taiwanese pepper buns (Hu jiao bing) that is cheap and tastes great! Sells out early though. Across the street there is a famous donut shop and japanese restaurant (Sando). Walk out 5 min and you will get to one of the entrances to Taipei Main Station . Walk another 5-10 min in the underground mall to get to the actual train station. We left some of our stuff behind at the luggage holding area after checkout, their friendly and helpful staff mailed it back to us with no extra service charges! 2 thumbs up! All in all I really enjoyed my stay here and I will definitely stay there again when I am back in Taipei. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel.

What a gem. This hostel met and exceeded all expectations regarding location, service, facilities, cleanliness and security. Despite having a room right next to the beautiful common area it was very quiet and we had no problems sleeping. Free breakfasts and coffee every morning was a lifesaver. Being so close to the metro was invaluable, especially the main station with airport express line. Staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful, there were no problems with communication. Highly recommend!
