    Just fine

    2019-10

Stayed here 4 nights. Was ok but there was a tissue with dry blood by my mattress, also mattress is very hard and thin which was comfy, and the pillow is too small :( They had no one in the kitchen for our whole stay.. so couldn’t experience the food there.. lost my card in between the wall and bed frame.. didnt get my security deposit back...

    Good price and location!

Near longshan MRT. Receptionist was nice and pleasant. Only thing was that there's no staff in the bar if you want to buy something. Other than that, everything is good =). Still recommended place to stay in Taipei.

Management might just call the police on you if they feel like it!

    2019-02

Let's start off positive. This hostel is one of the cheapest in Taipei, with adequate beds, big lockers (I was able to fit a carry-on size suitcase, 40L backpack, and day pack), bathrooms of middling cleanliness, and very clean and large showers. It's conveniently located near the Longshan Temple and adjacent MRT stop, the Bopiliao historic block, 24-hour Carrefour, a great night market, and the best vegetarian restaurant I've been to in Taipei. It's also not too far of a walk from Ximending. Now to the bad stuff... The very first interaction I had with the manager was him calling me to the front desk to threaten me with calling the police because I had interacted with someone in the common room who was apparently in trouble with the hostel, even though I had no knowledge as to the situation. I subsequently witnessed him threaten two separate other guests with calling the police for bringing non-paying guests into the common room, even though no one is made aware they aren't allowed to bring outside guests. He then actually called the police on a guest who used the luggage storage and common room after checking out, even though she got an employee's permission to do so! I want to reiterate - they might call the police on you for breaking rules of which they do not make you aware!!! One morning during my stay, without any prior notice, one of the employees climbed up into my bed to tell me that I had to move rooms immediately. When I asked the manager why this had happened without any notice, his response was "Well what do you want me to say?" When I pressed the issue, he said it was the hostel's policy, and that guests could be made to change rooms at any time. The entire staff (with the acception of one employee with whom my interactions were quite pleasant) are surly and rude, and seem underpaid and overworked. The wifi is really spotty, even in the common room. I often had to go outside to use my phone's 4G signal. There is no bar. Well the bar is there, but there is no bartender and there are no drinks to serve. Also, guests aren't allowed to use most of the kitchen and only have access to mugs, utensils, refrigerator, and water dispenser. This would have been a more than adequate lodging for the price, but my experience was completely overshadowed by the absolutely abyssmal management and my rather unpleasant interactions with the staff at large.

    Good for Price

Overall its a decent place. 5-10 minute walk to MRT Longshan Temple which is wasy to get to other places in Taipei. Pretty clean, well kept bathroom and sleeping dorms. Service and staff was good. They tired their best to help just should be someone there all night or someone checking incase travelers come late. Make sure you bring your own supplies for every hostel is different. I would recommend.

    Nice hostel!

    2017-02

I stay in this hostel during my whole 7-day trips to Taiwan. It is very close to the Longshan Temple MRT Station. The hostel is warm, private, quiet, and comfortable. However, I got a NTD 200 waiting fee due to late check-in without informing the receptionist. So please mail them if you will check-in late. Hot water is available. Towel and toiletries are also provided free of charge.
