Stay away. Complete dump of a hotel. Dirty, Dingy, Moldy. While we were not expecting a 5 star hotel, we were expecting at least 3 star based on the classification and ratings. Upon arrival at 11:45pm, we were shocked to see how dingy and dirty the lobby was. In addition, the breakfast is a meal voucher to the McDonald's 2 blocks away. We had 2 executive level rooms: twin and double. Both rooms had peeling wallpaper, stains on the carpet and a horrible smell of mold. The drapes and curtains were dirty. The double room had a plug in de-humidifier (no doubt because of the moisture issue.) The location is the only positive. Is is steps from the MRT main station and the one night market. I recommend looking elsewhere and do NOT book a room here.
A very handy bargainJust a short stroll from the Taipei Main Station, the hotel was very convenient when travelling throughout the city by train, as well as to and from the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, with the cost a real bargain considering the location and services. One drawback: although my booking included breakfast, I was a bit disappointed to discover that this consisted of coupons valued at NTD 55 per day at a nearby McDonalds. The last thing I am looking forward to as a traveller from North America is a big breakfast at "The Golden Arches", especially when there are many, more desirable eateries nearby.
Convenient, cordial, and not noisy for usWe just spent two nights at this hotel and were very pleased. I had to be in Taipei for a business meeting. Maybe we were just lucky but our room (on the 7th floor) was not noisy at all. We even slept with the window open (in January!) to let in some fresh air and our sleep was not disturbed by any street noise or anything. It’s a good & convenient location, a few meters from an entrance leading to the underground transit system at Taipei Main Station thus to various metro lines. TAKE NOTE: when arriving at Taipei Main Station, go for “EXIT Z10” (upon your arrival , first find it on a map of the station on one of the walls because signage is not great); it’s a good 10-minute walk through the underground mall but you can easily roll your suitcase. USEFUL INFO: once you arrive at Exit Z10, there is no escalator and you’ll have to climb up 59 steps then go down 7 steps to go outside while carrying your luggage (be in good shape!). From there, I’d say it’s only about 15 meters to the hotel on the same side of the street. We also thought the service was cordial & very helpful and, in fact, we named “Cindy” at the front desk our “Favourite Person in Taiwan!”. Do not expect a 5-star hotel, you’ll be disappointed, but, for the low price one pays, and for a hotel in the very heart of a world-class city, this is a very good deal!
The noisiest hotel everAfter 1000 stays in hotels worldwide: this hotel ranges in the top ten of The Noisiest Hotels Ever because the hotel is situated on a main road, has very bad windows and above all they play very loudly the worst 'elivator music' on the corridors from 8am on. No way to sleep. You need a good book for your stay because the wifi does not work properly either. Why should work wifi in a so called business hotel?! For your sonambula stay: there is a good coffee shop just on the other side of the street called Notch.
lack hospitality and no customer servicei stay a total of 5 hotel during my holiday in taipei and this is the worst. the only good point is perhaps the location, however the room is not that great, the most frustrated thing is to deal with the damn rude staff, i cant believe nowadays we still have to engage such bad attitude in a hotel industry. dont stay there unless taipei have no more hotel.
