Review of private dining in Yangtze Rooms

The dishes kept on coming during this business banquet. The food is mainly plated up by one waiting staff member and taken to you, with anything left over put in the centre. Some of the dishes unusual for our Western palates (deep fried frogs legs, fish heads etc) but we did our best. Our Taiwanese colleagues loved it all!

    Old but still good

A relatively old but good maintained hotel. Large rooms. Very clean. Breakfast buffet just nice. A Chines stile hotel. Have transportation from and to airport. Can use airport MRT to train station and from there taxi very convenient and cost just 300 NT. Walking distance from central shopping streets. Very near to a small but nice night market. In general very good value for money

    Well well ....

A good place in center, with a good connection from airport with 1960 directly door to door for cheap prices, confortable and clean hotel ... BUT ... - i asked to get a king size bed, i confirmed on lobby, but i got 2 simple beds ... - fridge was so noisy that i should unplug it - internet connection was bad - all rooms in front of street with metro are extremely noisy. I checked if the windows was not opened. (room 1222) - i left at 7 am on second day to climb xiangshan and when i was back at 3 pm, room was not finished to clean ... Be serious, i've been to taipei to visit the city, not to fight with the hotel with the high price i paid ... Take another choice ...

    Good choice, central location

I stayed four nights in Howard Plaza but had so tight schedule that I didn't have much time to enjoy the hotel facilities. My room was big enough with view to the street. It was furnished in a normal hotel style, and the fresh flowers and fruits were a very nice bonus. The bed was comfortable, and there were good chairs in the room. The only disadvantage was the air-conditioning which didn't react much when I tried to change the temperature. And there was some noise from outside. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, with the Asian dishes being better than the rest. There are several restaurants inside the hotel, and I only tried one with buffet. A lot of choice there as well. The hotel is located within a short walk from three metro stations, so it's easy to go to all directions. There are some shops and restaurants nearby, but the more interesting ones are elsewhere.

    Ok but old

Pluses: - good location. 7 mins walk to Zhongxiao Fuxing or Daan stations (lines brown, red, blue - all main); - Big rooms with comfy beds; - Good service; - Ok gym. Minuses: - really old.... u can feel it. Time to renovate; - Breakfast could be better... no much bakery. No peanut butter... a bit basic for such hotel level. In general ok. But time to renovate for sure...
