“In Place” is a duo solo exhibition of two young female photographers – Chu Yun-Rung and Ho Yu.  Both artists present their works in a book as guidance for viewers.  Chu Yun-Rung preserves personal memories in a handmade album, and Ho Yu indicates a social phenomenon of invisible workers in the public space with bookbinding limitations.  Therefore “In Place” serves as a call to the subjects and an index of punctum for the viewers. Through composition, selection, and layout of the photo, the artists redefine the roles and positions of the photographer and the subject and once again put them in place.

The common point of the works of the two young female photographers is that they are presented in the form of photographic books to communicate with the viewers. Such an innovative form of expression transforms traditional 2D flat photography works into three-dimensional display and reading function in 3D space. Starting from family memories and social observations, it shows the explosive power of creation at up-and-coming emerging female photographers.
