Xuehai Academy, now known as Kao Clan Ancestral Shrine, used to be one of the five academies in the Taipei Basin in the Ching dynasty. Nowadays, it is the only remaining academy building.

Xuehai Academy looks old and mottled with traces of ages all over the entire building. Because the academy building is now privately owned by the Kao Clan Ancestral Shrine, it’s not open to the public. Visitors can only appreciate its beauty over the fence.
