bad everything, except locationArrived at midnight. The room and the bathroom have some weird smell; rock hard beds; amenities are old, but still functions well. The design of the lobby and corridors look very early 90s. Very minimal choices for its breakfast as well. The only value that we got would probably be the location as it is very near the main Taipei station as well as shopping areas, and convenience stores.

it’s totally ruin my trip, very very regret on choosing this hotel .
Worked for meIf you are looking for inexpensive but comfortable room in this part of the city, I found Keymans to be the best deal. I walked around the neighborhood and inquired into at least 8 other hotels. Yes some were nicer/newer but they were quite expensive and most of the hostels had shared bathroom, which was a no for me. Keymans also has a free breakfast which is not a fantastic meal, but satisfying. Eggs (2 styles), toast, cabbage, soup, some other things which were yummy but dont know what it was. Coffee was good too. The location couldnt be better if you are using Taipei Main Station. The MRT / underground mall entrance is right around the corner. There is also a GREAT resto/beer bar right across the street which I strongly recommend - Jap Jap. I also walked to Ximen from there which is a fun, easy 15 minute walk along many interesting shops and restaurants. As for the room, perfect size for 2 people (I was solo). LARGE bed, however it was stiff as a board, which I found is common in Asia. Comfortable sitting chairs and table for the laptop. Flat screen TV, complimentary water and a refrigerator. The bathroom was aging but clean, with plenty of hot water. The folks at reception were always cheerful and helpful. They also have a secure area to hold your bags if needed. For the price, I was completely satisfied with Keymans.
FunctionalFunctional is the best description of this hotel. It was clean enough, the rooms were large enough, the staff was friendly enough. The best thing is how close it is to main station. And really, we didn’t come to spend time in the hotel. They also have luggage storage which was great. I have nothing against this hotel except the rock hard beds.
Old but function wellThe junior suite was available only via an apps that is popular among PRC. The hotel looks like the 80s but then the water pressure is very good and i like the sofa and stool in the room which allows me to lift up my legs to rest when i returned from my trekking. The only thing i dislike is that there is no electric kettle, so the chambermaid will fill up my flask with hot water daily. The cold n hot water dispenser is just right outside my room. Bed is firm, which suits me, although some may find it hard. As for breakfast, it is simple and typically local chinese food. I love porridge for breakfast, and so i am satisfied with the humble dishes. As for the location, next to the hotel is a foot reflexology n massage spa, price looks cheaper than the one at Ximengtin. Location wise, it is about ten mins walk from the railway station.
