Really lovely placeWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Recommend staying on an executive floor as the benefits of the lounge are lovely. Breakfast is huge too. The location is convenient and safe and every employee is so friendly and helpful.
Excellent stayI only spent my last night there and wish I could have stayed longer. First of all, if you have expectation for a romantic night with your loved one, this is your choice. If it's a business or family trip, might not be ideal. Since I was with my partner, we had truly a wonderful time. Everything is top notch, the room has the perfect set up - quite dark though if you prefer brightness. The staff in general are very 5 star standard, smiling all the time, helpful and hospitable. The only flaw I find is that the swimming pool is not in the same building but you actually have to go outside of the hotel building, which is no way I would do. But the room and the view pretty much compensated for it. Would definitely come back!
Near Main Taipei bus stationLike what many travellers had said, the rooms are dark. The hotel is cosy and located on top of a mall. However, that is a problem because it is difficult to get a seat in a restaurant for dinner. Taxis are easy to get and the staffs are nice and friendly.
Dark RoomThe online booking allows me to make specific request which none was met. I asked for No last room (along corridor) but was assigned to the last room. Requested to change room and the front counter asked if I made request during check-in, I need to remind him it is stated in my online booking. The changed room comes with 2 twin bed joint to form a King bed which I can feel the hard frame of the mattress when my online booking stated One king bed. The room as shared by many review is dark. And the room is ready dark - I need to use my mobile phone torchlight to differentiate the button for Do not Disturb vs Room Makeup at the entrance. The table lamp has no switch must be control by TV, so I have to stop my TV watching to control my light, or on the TV in the middle of sleep to switch off the lamp light. The bath tube is hazard slippery, highly not elderly friendly. They provide Movies in HD but surprised that the TV channels are all very pixelated. What is good - generally the bed and pillow are comfortable, and room is clean. Will I stay again? No, because the room is too dark for my likely and the trouble to navigate the lighting is way to troublesome.
Giorgio and Giuseppina Belperio (Australia)Thank you for a very enjoyable stay at the Palais de Chine. The hotel is conveniently located next to the train and bus stations so it was easy for us to explore Taiwan with the trains. Once inside the hotel, you could sense an air of peacefulness away from the hustle and bustle of the streets outside. Our room was large and always clean and tidy. We would get back at night and the room had been tidied up again. The breakfast was amazing. We also had dinner one night there and we couldn’t fault the food, one of the best beef noodle dish. Most of all, I would like to congratulate all the staff at this hotel. It’s obvious that they have had excellent training. Nothing was a bother to them. They opened doors when we arrived at the hotel. They made sure we were in the lift and if they walked past, they would always greet us and sometimes they would have a quick chat with us. Their smiles were always sincere. All this makes the guest feel welcome and comfortable. Thanks again and if we come back to Taipei, we will stay at this hotel again.
