ExcellentWe booked this restaurant for the last night in Taipei because we wanted a restaurant that can cater gluten intolerance. The Italian chef was very attentive because it was obvious that the waiting staff didn’t understand what gluten intolerance is at all. Our food was delicious and double checked by the chef. Couldn’t have been better. Afterwards we enjoyed the rest of the evening in Marco Polo Lounge with the view of Taipei 101.
Great Chef which means great restaurant!!!First time in Marco Polo restaurant at Shangri-La hotel in Taipei. Fantastic dinner with really Italian food remanaged with some innovative concept by the super chef Fabio. Fabio is a young chef but with already a great deep experience after have worked in London, Paris, Copenhagen and Australia with Emirates. Please consider a very good bread (the gentle waitress offered it twice without any problem) served with 3 different butters plus two original snacks just for waiting our meal and later pre-dessert as well. Good choice of wines available also in single glass. Very very good American coffee served with “cantuccio” biscuit. Great professional staff. Special thanks for reservation office which reported we were there for my lovely wife birthday. Fabio prepared for her a special dessert. Here photos of our dinner. Marco Polo will become my fixed point in Taipei.

Romantic dining with kidsWe enjoyed our peaceful meal here with our kids during our trip in Taipei. The ambiance and food were fantastic & romantic, they even able to custom made mash potato for our kids. But it would be better if they can provide kids menu as well since they allow kids to dine in
Beautiful Italian! We love staying at Shangri-La in Taipei partly because of its excellent restaurants. Marco Polo is indeed a top notch Italian restaurant. As much as we like the Peking duck at Shang Palace, we are having a hard time deciding which is our favorite between the two. I usually try to refrain from having too much bread but the bread at Marco Polo, served with honey, herb, and regular butter, is worth the damage. The Mediterranean seafood were beautifully presented and it tasted fresh, light, and healthy. Nice wine list and wine by the glass. The desserts were airy and delicious. Not only the food was tasty, everything was plated in such a beautiful way that I feel I am truly enjoying pieces of artworks. It seems that there is a new chef this year. It was nice to meet Chef Fabio, who came out and greeted each table toward the end of our meals. We have tried almost everything on the menu over the years we have stayed at Shangri-La and they all have been pretty good. I would recommend to come on a weeknight rather than the weekend though. The weekend dinner took so much longer and I intend to enjoy the food better during the weekday.
Highly recommendedA must-visit restaurant if you are looking for a romantic dinner with good vibes and amazing food. For one, the food is both exquisite and delicious. We had homemade bread with their signature butter - honey butter- and we are absolutely addicted to it. Both the starters and mains exceed our expectation, especially the seafood risotto. Our evening ended with amazing dessert. Great service, nice stuff and good vibes all roll into one.
