Educating Taiwan's eliteIf a student gains entry to National Taiwan University, he's got it made. Tai Da, as it is universally known, exists to train an elite, similar to Harvard or Oxford. The campus is spacious -- it dates from the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). Tai Da is built in red brick, a style favored for public buildings in the Japanese colonial era, similar to the Presidential Offices. Although they were not universally esteemed, the last four presidents of the Republic of China (ROC) were Tai Da graduates, including Lee Teng-hui, the first democratically elected president of the ROC.
NTU Presidents might not be the Best, but the Campus in IncomparableTaiwan University is the Numero Uno University of Taiwan ever since it became a part of the Japanese Empire back in 1895-1945. After Taiwan was liberated by Chiang Kai-shek, it still remains the very best of the best. However NTU students, though capable and competantn, have produced four consecutive presidents of the Republic of China. They are all very smart, yet none of them have performed up to the standard of the people of Taiwan. Nevertheless, the campus is gorgous and huge, and the library holds the most complete set of books, and it is open to the public. Namo Amituofo
Taiwan's HarvardNational Taiwan University (NTU) is the Taiwan equivilent of Harvard or Oxford. NTU was founded in the Japanese colonial era with the intention of educating an colonial elite to govern Taiwan. Young people who gain entry to "Tai Da" have got it made. The university is built in red brick, in Japanese classical style.
Beautiful CampusA nice campus with red brick buildings, it is the best campus in Taiwan. There are various departments here, including those related to climate and atmosphere. The existence of this department may be due to frequent typhon in this country. The campus is very spacious and neat, so it's good for relaxation.
