    MIchelin Star? No way!!

    I was at this restaurant just last week. I was there only cos I flew SQ, and on the menu, I saw that SQ collaborated with them, and I thought given SQ's usually high standards, this restaurant must really be something else. Boy, was I wrong... 1st, the location; it is located away from town, and commute via the train is not convenient as you will need to walk at least 10-15 min (no fun to walk in the cold and rainy weather) 2nd - ambience was just so so, and not as glamorous. Feels like walking in to a Din Tai Fung or Dian Xiao Er. 3rd - price point was perhaps the only plus point I would give them. For a Michelin star restaurant, the price point was ok 4th - service of the restaurant waiters/waitresses....was below par. I asked for hot water, which they filled to the brim in a teacup. How could I even hold it, let alone drink it? 5th - quality of food was below par, in terms of aesthetic presentation as well as taste. You would expect the side of the plate to be clean and not have splatters of gravy; and for vegetables to be placed nicely on a plate, and not have the look of it being just scooped from the wok I left the Restaurant Manager to recommend their *Star* dishes. He ordered : 1. Braised Pig Trotters (which tasted terrible as the pork had a stench and was 'pungent') 2. Omelette with preserved Radish - too much preserved radish, and a tad too salty as a result 3. San Shu (a kind of leafy vegetable) - this was well done 4. Taro with Bee Hoon - the bee hoon soaked up the soup, which was a shame 5. Dessert which was White Fungus with GIngko Nut. The soup was 'slimy', which is because the fungus has been soaked too long in the soup. Worse still, the white fungus was not properly prepared; there was a huge chunk attached to the stem, making it aesthetically unpresentable Worst of all was when I gave my feedback to the Restaurant Manager, there was no service recovery. And I was already very polite when I spoke to him This will be the ONE AND ONLY time I am visiting this restaurant!!!

    高級又隠密的聚餐

    雅閣位於東方文華酒店的3樓,門口有專人服務,帶進高級又隠密的聚餐處,包廂很大,非常氣派,包廂內有洗手間,一人一套餐,東西精緻,擺盤漂亮,感覺確實很高級。我喜歡他們的各式拼盤、湯也不錯喝。如果喜歡氣派和氣氛是個不錯的選擇。

    The Taiwanese cuisine at this restaurant is amazing and accompanied by helpful and friendly staff. 5 stars is well deserved as this has been the best cuisine we’ve had in Taiwan since arriving.

    The restaurant is at the third floor of the Grand Mayful Hotel. We were invited by our friends and we were specially treated. The beef was served with original saffron and the fish was covered with wheat, which were interesting. The final touch was by almond milk doped with pastry.

    Exceptional Taiwanese cuisine

    This is one of THE best Taiwanese Restaurant in my humble opinion. Chef Yung Hua Chen extremely knowledgeable in Taiwanese cuisine. love the way he cook Steam King Grouper. Presentation and extremely tasteful in best. infact we're love all his dish so much we return after 4 days from Guangzhou. must mention restaurant supervisor Mr. Yuming Huang extremely polite and professional, needless to say Mr. Huang definitely knowledgeable in Taiwanese and Cantonese Cuisine. "Mipon" abousulty one of the best Taiwanese Restaurant in town. 如果您喜歡正宗台灣菜. 可以嘗試體驗 台北市美福大飯店內的 "米香台菜餐廳" 環境優雅 服務 食物水準超越一般台灣菜館! 主廚 陳永華大師傅經驗豐富. 最欣賞就是陳師傅處理 台式清蒸龍虎斑,真的是一試難忘 做法有廣東清蒸魚的異曲同妙但是味道絕對是台灣特色. 餐廳主任 黃昱銘 對所有菜式瞭如指掌 細心解釋菜式用料 黃主任曾經是文華東方 米芝蓮一星廣東菜館 "雅閣" 重要樓面之一 所以他對廣東菜也有非常深刻認識. 體驗過米香台菜餐廳之後對台灣菜式更有深一層認識.
