Forestry in Taiwan has a history of more than a century, dating back to the Forest Management Project initiated by the Sanrinka, the forestry section of the Taiwan Government-General, during the Japanese period. Its successor, the Forestry Bureau, went on to oversee the island's forests for more than eighty years. In 2023, the Forestry Bureau was reorganized as the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, adopting the vision of  ''Sustainable Forestry, Ecological Taiwan'' and continuing its pursuit of harmony between humans and nature.

To enhance public understanding of the development and transformation of forestry in postwar Taiwan, the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, in collaboration with the Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan Design Research Institute, launches a special exhibition ''100Y Forest Rhythms: __,'' which traces a century of forestry in Taiwan. Through a rich collection of forestry stories, visitors are invited to reflect on the evolving relationship between human society and forest landscapes, and to envision possible paths toward a shared future.
