Snacks or dinnerNing-Xia night market is one street closed at evening only food stands is allowed for pedestrians. It is about 150 meters long two isles left and right walk way. This night markets has everything and it has some local delicacies other night markets does not offers. If you want these special kind of delicious delicacies this is only place has it. I would recommend you visit this night market to compare others famous sites as particular night market is quite nice and many excellent food stands which shown in my photo. Lots people traffic even at week days at 11pm. Some food stand more than 50 persons in line.

Short and less known night marketThis night market was a short one, it was maybe a 500m night market on a weekday. I don't know how long it will be on weekends. It was all food only. We walked around and picked a stall to have dinner, there was seating area provided, some tables and chairs. We ordered some traditional Taiwanese dishes such as pork blood, pork leg noodles, pork rib noodles, pork lard rice etc. A pork feast! We also ordered stinky tofu. Taste was acceptable, nothing wow. It was a great way to enjoy the night market, sitting there, people watching while eating the traditional dishes. We bought drinks, fruits and shao bing later. Simple and less crowded night market.
Compact night marketDefinitely not for the claustrophobic traveler. Long and narrow, you can practically stretch you arms out and touch vendors on both sides. Still haven't figured out the secret to getting a place to sit down to eat without getting kicked out for not being in the right "spot". The usual food offerings and close to two MRT stops.
Night market popular with localsNing Xia is a small night market with mainly food stalls. You may wish to visit this night market which has most of the popular Taiwanese street food but with much shorter queues. If you wish to bring home the popular Taiwanese braised meat rice (Lu Rou Fan), you can buy take-home sauce packs from a restaurant named Formosa Chang too.

Small market, but good foodWe stayed in a hotel near Ningxia Night Market so we frequented this area. Very good Oyster cake, Milk teas in this area are all good. Try the fried dumpling restaurant (two thumbs up). the other food stalls are ok, but not comparable in quality to Shi Lin Market.
