Take a walk or a bike rideThe pier is, in my opinion, simply a starting point to explore Taipei from a unique perspective- via a walking/biking path that wends its way along the city’s waterways. At the pier itself, there are boats that offer tours along with benches/seating areas. It’s close proximity to Dihua Street is a plus. The views from the pier are quite nice, especially with the nearby mountains standing in stark contrast to the dense cityscape that dominates both sides of the Tamsui River.
take a walk by Dadaocheng WharfDadaocheng Wharf is very near Dihua road so you can explore both places while you are in the area. The wharf used to be the main trading area and boats would leave/arrive with their goods (tea, textiles, cotton and silk, but nowadays it is a place for locals to admire the river and bridges and enjoy a breeze from Tamsui river. There are walking and cycling paths and some huge graffiti just by the main gate . There are severakl interesting sculptures by the wharf, particularly one of an old boat.
Only if your in the areaNothing special at all.A few interesting photos perhaps sunset it is better. But if your visiting the herb alley and tea shops in the neighborhood then check out the wharf.

Nice place to view a sunsetThis Pier is walled off from the rest of the area. Has a very wide pedestrian area for walking, sitting and enjoying the view. the view at sunset is very beautiful. There seem to be photographers there all the time taking pictures of the sunset.
Not worth making a special trip here......We chanced upon this pier while visiting the Dadaocheng vicinity. It's nothing more just a local pier. Nothing interesting . Don't bother to make a special trip here unless you happen to visit the vicinity .
