Disappointment if you are pedestrianNot so easy to go if you are walking and not much to see. Better to stay on Di Hua Street 1st section to look after the old architecture and fancy shops
Morning walkThis pier or wharf is along Tamsui river. It is now a connector along the river for many activities - walking, running, cyclying, tennis, exercise, etc.
Tranquil walk amidst the cityThe vast river expanse separating Taipei from New Taipei City is a sight to behold. Along the river are pathways suitable for running or cycling and small food shops incentivize the casual passersby to take a moment and sit down.
Something different....see the other/older side of TaipeiWe're lucky that we stayed in this neighborhood as we got to experience the older part of Taipei. The streets, stores took one back in time...something we sorely missed while traveling in major cities in Asia. Dadacheng Pier offers a nice view of the river and on clear evenings, sunset over the river (beautiful). There's also supposedly a ferry which takes you up north to Tamshui. the pier has been transformed into a more touristy place with food and beer stalls.
Excellent place to rent a bike and cycle along Tamsui RiverYou can rent a bike near here, or you can use an app like oBike and find a nearby one. The path is very flat, with lots of nature to see and places to sit. There are also some vending machines along the way if you get thirsty. Bring your camera!
