Peaceful serene churchGood location, with the park opposite and mrt station within walking distance. Nice church to attend mass and pray. The backdrop behind the altar is so beautiful.. for reflection. Always an honour to visit a Catholic Church in all my travels, and a privilege to attend mass in any Catholic Church, on any day.
Love the atmosphereI came for the 5:30pm Sunday mass in Mandarin. It was pleasant though I didn't understand the language. Idk if it is common anywhere else, but they can do the confession two ways. Either kneel down (the priest doesn't get to see your face), or face-to-face (like a job interview). I asked a local people, he said people are not afraid of f2f confession. The community is small and the priest knows everyone. Intereting!
A Solace for Catholics in a Foreign LandBeing Catholic, I had to find time from my tour to visit at least one Catholic church. It is good that the Holy Family Church is just an MRT ride from our hotel. Though it may not have the Baroque or Renaissance art that you may find in European churches, the church let you feel a peace that you may not find elsewhere in the city. I entered the church all by myself with only an organist playing a tune in the choir loft. The scene helped me pray more fervently to the Holy Family. The stained glass windows are very beautiful.
My Go-To Place for Sunday Mass in TaipeiEverytime I'm in Taipei for pleasure and work, I will come to this church for Sunday mass. The mass is celebrated in English and Mandarin, and doesn't differ much from the ones from the rest of the world. Now that there's a new subway station nearby (Da-an Forest Park Station), getting here is even more convenient. No more excuses to be late for church now!
Beautiful English MassThis is a beautiful church in the heart of Taipei with an absolutely wonderful Mass in English on Sunday mornings at 9:45. It is comfortable and can easily be reached on the red MRT line. The park next to it is very nice for a walk after church. I come here to Mass whenever I need to spend the weekend in Taipei.
