Daan Park 大安森林公園

Anchor point

Dann Forest Park is an ecological park with a forest-like environment. Park roads are lined with trees such as camphor, cajuput, ficus and maples. Bushes and flower beds are planted throughout the park to help make the park into a lush, green space. The park is likened to the lungs of Taipei.

    Almost a hidden gem

It is very accessible by the mass transit but seems not being mentioned much. Go if you want a relaxing walk, or to spot a few wildlife in the city. There is a pond and a small island with dense vegetation where various species of bird nest and rest. Try explore the neighbourhood with YouBike. One thing I will try when I go next time although bike is not allowed in the park. The entrance plaza to the park via the mass transit entrance/exit is very inviting and you can rest and have snacks and drinks in the cafe nearby. So enjoy !

    Family visit

Great place for a weekend stroll with the family, its a mini 'Central Park' in Taipei city. You can occasionally catch a band performing at the band stand during the weekend.

    beautiful park

I walked around this park every morning watching the birds, people walking dogs, children playing, and people exercising.

    Green and crowded

We both went on a run that included a couple of loops through the park. It was about 8 in the morning and the park was quite lively, lots of group exercises and tai chi etc. A few people were running or strolling. The water pond is pretty and everything looked green and pretty well maintained, especially given it’s only quite early spring and a bit chilly still. We didn’t laze around but it looked like a nice green space in the middle of the city to spend a couple of hours and it’s certainly a nicer place to run.

    Beautiful park

This relatively quiet park is lush with vegetation. Pathways make walking easy. Very well maintained! They have free bug spray dispensers, which I recommend using. We saw a hoard of birders camped out all day, watching a rare bird in a tree. One night, two people were quietly playing instruments, adding a nice vibe. I hope to come back!
