Giant nature-friendly park in the city centerBeautifully landscaped park in the city center. It has a lively atmosphere where local people exercise and walk their dogs around. There is a huge outdoor stage in the park like an open-air theather which I heard hold orchestra every autumn season. Also I saw quite many photographers filming birds resting in a lake in this park. You can appreciate a serene and natural scenery in Daan Forest Park, maybe stroll along the park after a meal. I suggest to come visit this place if your hotel is near or in Daan. Definately will enjoy the nature and landscape of this park.

Tai ChiLarge urban park in the heart of Taipei - not far from CKS Memorial Hall and National Taiwan University. Weekends get crowded but not overwhelming. Young and old alike are well represented here. Lots of grassy areas for a picnic or running around as well as mature foliage for those wishing to stay out of the sun. There are basketball courts for those interested in organized team sports. People pitched tents and made a day visit at the park. There are plenty of paved walking paths - even a foot reflexology path. I found a quiet shaded area to do some tai chi - in the vicinity were people doing other types of martial arts and meditating. Truly a park for the masses.
Excellent Kids PlaygroundTook our almost 2 year old to Daan Park and she loved the kids playground. There is a excellent playground for kids. It’s big enough so you don’t feel like you’re queuing up to use any of the equipment.
One of the best parks in TaiwanIn Taipei City, if you are looking for a place to slow down and take a deep breath, the best choice is to go to "Daan Forest Park". The activities there can be various. One can have a good time exploring the joy of a 1~3-hour trip on foot.
Birdwatching in a quiet parkIf you are in Taipei and into bird watching and photography, you have to visit Daan Forest Park. The place is easily accessible by public transport. There is a pond within the park which is the roosting site for many egrets and black-crowned night herons. During our visit, there was also a common kingfisher hanging around which attracted the attention of many birdwatchers. Look out for fruiting trees too, we were lucky to spot a fig tree with fruits and happened to see many species feeding. Even if you are not birdwatching, the park is a nice get away from Taipei city for a little stroll or walk around.
