Introduction

Sprawling along the banks between the Zhongshan and Dazhi Bridges in Taipei’s Zhongshan District, Dajia Riverside Park is an urban greenery project inspired from a City Government-initiated effort to straighten the course of Keelung River. Upon arriving at this extensive park, visitors are greeted with a pleasant, expansive patch of lawn commanding a view of Miramar’s rooftop Ferris wheel. In addition to a gigantic fountain that imparts a rhythmic visual effect with aerated water jets of varying intensity and heights, where the central columns reach up to 75-meters, the park is replete with sports facilities for basketball, tennis, badminton and croquet, as well as and an encircling bike path several kilometers long (bicycle rental services available). A popular weekend getaway known for its spaciousness, convenient parking and scenic beauty, Dajia Riverside Park hosts large events at irregular intervals to showcase Taipei’s metropolitan vibrancy.

    Restoring the riverside

    2021-08

The Dajia Riverside Park is a venture by the Taipei City Government to restore the river bank between the Zhongshan Bridge and the Dazhi Bridge. It's a large metropolis-style park developed by the City Government, with free entry; it has splendid views of the City. One notable feature is the Miramar Ferris Wheel.

    Place to walk the dog

    2021-03

Taipei people like dogs but finding somewhere to walk Fido can be difficult. There lots of room for dog walkers along the Keelung River between Zhongshan Bridge and Dazhi Bridge. If you want, you can hire a bicycle, or even skateboard, though I prefer walking. There's a water spout that comes to life for half an hour, every hour, on the hour.

Take a walk along the Keelung River

    2020-08

The Dajia Riverside Park runs along the Keelung River. You can walk or cycle, or even skateboard. Taipei began life as a river port, but the riverside was neglected for many years, now you can enjoy the river and the park. The park runs between Zhongshan Bridge and Dazhi Bridge; there's a fountain that erupts every hour, for half an hour, on the hour. The Riverside Park is an urban renewal project, it's a great place to release some energy.

    The night scenery was amazing!!!

    2018-07

Spent a night skateboarding alongside the Keelung river at Dajia Riverside Park to Yinfeng Riverside Park. The night scenery was amazing and it’s better than the day time coz of the breeze and without burning sun.

Part of a monumental effort by the authorities to 'green' Taipei, this park is best traveled by bicycle. I came here with my rented youbike and enjoyed a couple of hours at night when the lanes were very quiet. It is a great place to get away from the bustle of Taipei's street.
