    Interesting Place

I wish we had more time to explore the place. There are temples, church and an art gallery to see. We came here in time for the sunset and on a weekday (Monday) so the market were not filled with people. We had a leisurely walk and we were able to see the shops better. My favorite part of the trip was stumbling into Yeh's Wonton Restaurant looking for local delicacies.

    Well worth a visit

We caught the MRT to Tamsui from Taipei which was quite easy. Once we arrived it was a contrast to Taipei with it being on the water and less crowded, though we did visit on a weekday so not sure about weekends. We walked through the markets which were very relaxing compared to some of the night markets in Taipei. (No mopeds to avoid) We then caught the ferry over to Bali, not much happening here and wouldn’t waste your time, but instead catch the ferry over to Fisherman’s wharf. Unfortunately we caught the ferry over around 3.30pm to Fisherman’s Wharf so the seafood restaurant was closed and so were the many other restaurants so we ended up just having a coffee at Starbucks. By the looks of this place I think more would be going on over the weekend and at night, we just had the wrong time I think to visit. Great views of the water and lots of people taking their photo on the love bridge. Nice place to walk around. We were told the last ferry left at 7pm. Tamsui has some nice restaurants near the water and the waterfront is currently under renovation with by the looks of it will offer a nice walk along the waterfront once finished, I think this is to be completed by early 2019. Tamsui offers more of a cafe culture and alfresco dining which also gave you the opportunity to people watch. Good walking shoes are recommended especially if you decide to walk to Fisherman’s wharf instead of catching the ferry. Nice place to visit and well worth the train trip.

It is a great place to hangout with friends and families. There are many places where to have street food to try while enjoying the cool breeze straight from the sea. There are nice views.
