    Away from the crowd!

There is a night market here with pretty much similar snacks you can get downtown. Ok variety is a bit less but in a less crowded environment. I appreciate being able to walk without bumping into another person every step or so. The sunset along the seaside park is pretty and worth a trip. There's also a cycle path that runs along the river on this side for those who take the MRT here to consider.

    Lovely Place

Easily accessible from the MRT. Loved the street food here. Must-try’s include the giant squid and the famous stinky tofu. Take the boat across and enjoy bicycle rides in the park.

Beautiful Sunset in this Seaside Town

After spending the afternoon soaking @ the Spring City Resort in Beitou, we hopped back on the Red line to the end stop Tamshui Station to walk around Tamshui Old Street. Once you alight the station, turn left and head straight towards the ocean and walk along the ocean-side pathway. There are shops, restaurants, arcades and the boat ramps where you catch the water boats to Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf and to Bali. The sunsets are very beautiful & famous here. You can turn around & head back to the Tamshui MRT station by walking on Old Street, which is parallel to the ocean-side pathway. Old Street is very charming and a fun place to buy snacks, souvenirs, and to get a bite to eat.

    Food and Historical Buildings

Most people that were here (and it was quite crowded) were interested in the countless culinary delights on offer - and there are some very good options. However, if you have an interest in traditional architecture and old buildings you should take your time to admire the many structures that line the street. If you have a good imagination you can picture what Tamsui looked like 100 years ago. To get here, turn left when exiting the train station and walk 150 yards or so - or just follow the crowds.

    Love this place

I personally found its better to stroll than JiuFen. Plenty of food and snack choice. My fav Peanuts , Taro Balls and Jelly from JiuFen all can be found here. It so easily accessible via MRT it will be my always option for all my future trips in taiwan. Even if is pack there is always the area facing the river to stroll and enjoy.
