Bangka Ching Shan Temple, Wanhua Dist., Taipei City Taiwan, R.O.C
Each year on the 23rd day of the 10th lunar month, on the occasion of the birthday of the Qingshan King, a celebration is held in Wanhua (Bangka). On the 20th and 21st days of the 10th lunar month, the Qingshan King leads his generals in a night parade, and on the 22nd another parade winds its way through Wanhua district. On a yearly basis, a vast crowd of people gathers, and the event bustles with excitement. It is comparable in scale to the Xiahai City God Cultural Festival held in Dadaocheng and the Baosheng Emperor Parade, and the three festivals are collectively referred to as Taipei’s “Big Three” folk festivals, and are the main religious festivals of Taipei City.
