As a milestone in film industry, Taipei Film Festival marks its 23nd anniversary this year. Apart from “Taipei Film Award”, an award exclusively offered for Taiwanese filmmakers, the Festival also encourages new filmmakers by holding the International New Talent Competition. The festival magnifies released Taiwanese films, new outstanding filmmakers and international exchanges through workshops (ex. before- and behind-the-scenes with the audience; summer markets; seminars on film exhibition highlights; cinephile club and so on). By presenting film production details, the Festival shortens the distance between the audience and creators, helping them to better understand film production.
