“Taipei Hakka Yimin Festival” is an important and iconic Hakka cultural event that, based on the Yimin belief, presents the Hakka culture from the perspective of immigrant festivals. During this three-day event, all nationwide Yimin temples are invited to reappear traditional Hakka worshipping rites through “rituals”. By taking “offering food with carrying poles” as an example, this parade based ritual presents the connotation of Hakka faith and culture while highlighting the characteristics of Hakka culture. In 2019, "One Hometown One Feature" is used to show the Hakka properties and cultural experiences. In the meanwhile, we will focus on promoting the inheritance of Hakka language; establish a Hakka-speaking environment for a better achievement; and enrich the multiculturalism of Taipei with the intrinsic characteristics of Hakka culture.
