Beitou Hot Spring Museum is Taiwan’s first case of community-driven historic preservation. It is also an excellent example of how the private and the public sector can work together to preserve cultural heritage. Each year, the museum holds a month-long anniversary celebration that allows local residents to learn about their neighborhood through curated activities including exhibitions, performances, music, shows, drama, interactive activities, lectures and guided tours. The program has become an important platform to express Beitou’s significance in arts and culture. The museum will celebrate its 23rd anniversary this year and will continue to work with local communities, schools and other neighborhood organizations for the benefit of Beitou's culture.
