The Zhuzihu Calla Lily & Hydrangea Festival has been held since 2002 to promote Beitou’s distinctive flower industry. At Zhuzihu, 80-90% of Taiwan’s calla lilies are produced. This festival’s varied program includes displays of landscape art in Zhuzihu’s farm area, guided eco-farm tours and experience activities, farm concerts, and a “Date With a Flower Field” activity. As well as admiring and picking flowers, visitors can also taste vegetables cultivated at the farms. At Zhuzihu the local flower industry has been combined with the natural and cultural resources to develop leisure agriculture. In 2019 it became the third leisure agriculture area in Taipei and a popular travel destination.
