The festival of Night Procession of the Earth God(Tu Ti Kung ) was originated from a custom of Neihu area in end era of Ching Dynasty that the local residents expressed their respect to the Earth God by throwing the firecrackers to the sedan chair of the Earth God during the procession on the night of the Lantern Festival, and people believed that the more firecrackers were set off, the more wealth they would get.
