There are numerous exotic specialty foods, uniquely styled cafes, and stylish stores lying in the narrow alleys of the Yongkang Shopping District. The rich cultural ambiance has gradually shaped the distinctive charm of Yongkang Shopping District. For example, Rongjin Gorgeous, formerly the official residence of the Taipei Criminal Police Office, was one of the largest modernized prisons in Taiwan. Today, this old house has been restored and repurposed, granting this historic building a second life. It now serves as a space that connects people, objects, and the shared experiences of inheritance, contributing to the vibrancy of Da’an District.

In the blocks of Yongkang, Qingtian, and Longquan streets (commonly referred to as the "Yongkang, Qingtian, and Longquan Blocks), you can explore numerous dormitories from the Japanese era. Alongside old trees, historic houses, and vintage photographs, nostalgic architecture such as Qingtian 76 and Hehe Qing Tian have cultivated a rich cultural and artistic ambiance in the region. There are also blocks along Wenzhou Street, Roosevelt Road, and Tingzhou Road (often referred to as "the Wenzhou-Roosevelt-Tingzhou Blocks") near the National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University. This area features the highest density of Chinese-language bookstores in the world: Within a distance of only 1 km, there are nearly 40 bookstores here.

If you are fond of Hakka culture, you must not miss "Taipei City Hakka Cultural Park" situated in the prime area of Tingzhou Road and Shida Road in Taipei City. This park is developed around six key elements – humanities, ecology, education, technology, industry, and farmyard fun, aiming to create a water-friendly civic park that embodies the characteristics of a Hakka village. When night falls, you can visit the vibrant Taida (NTU) Gongguan Shopping District to shop and indulge in local delicacies. Whether it's the Bib Gourmand-recommended Lan Chia Guabao for four-herbal soup or Hsiung Chi Scallion Pancake, all are affordable night market delights cherished by students and locals alike.
