Yuan Yuan Restaurant at the Grand Hotel 台北圓山大飯店圓苑餐廳

Anchor point
No. 1, Sec. 4, Zhongshan N. Rd., Zhongshan Dist., Taipei City Taiwan, R.O.C

An inviting old-world ambiance and delicious food have earned the Yuan Yuan Restaurant a loyal following among discerning diners. Located in the Grand Hotel, the restaurant seats up to 100, with 32 tables and one private dining area. The square wooden tables are evenly arranged and paired with elegant stools. The décor is tasteful without being ostentatious, and the staff beckon with a warm welcome, recalling the feeling of a northern Chinese inn.

The restaurant has an open kitchen, so patrons can see their food as its made. The menu brings together an array of northern Chinese fare, from dim sum and light snack dishes to noodles, bing and dumplings. House specialties include dumplings with soup inside, chicken soup, spring rolls, crispy "crab shell" pastries (stuffed with scallions), chow mein, steamed dumplings, stir-fried rice cake, fried dumplings, braised noodles, stir-fried vegetables, and other popular dishes. Yuan Yuan is also famous for its steamed rice cake with red beans.

    Good lunch with fantastic views

Very good food but of course pricey, given its location in the Grand Hotel. Excellent service. Don’t miss the wonderful orchid in the lobby!!!

Authentic Cantonese cuisine restaurant in a historic hotel

This is a Cantinese cuisine restaurant. The menu is Cantonese. The food is authentic Cantonese and delicious. The roated suckling pig is crispy. The honey glazed barbeque pork is also good. They also serve the famous Chinese tea named by the English queen Victoria as Oriental Beauty. This restaurant is located in an ild hotel jnown as the Grand Hotel which boasts of many heads of state and heads of governments as well as celebreties as her guests. The hotel is however located away from the city and therefore accessibilty to the hotel and this restaurant may not be convenient.

We had been here before for lunch, late last year. It was not good. This evening we were part of a large party for dinner. It was very good. I’m not sure what has changed - certainly the chef. Highlights - Mee Fen noodle, shrdz tou, prawns, bamboo, onion cakes, seafood fried rice. But it was all good and we will return. Hopefully it will not revert back to its former mediocrity!

    Amazing property. Amazingly bad service

Really beautiful property. The food at the buffet was amazing. The service was absolutely the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Just plain bad!!!!! If you don’t mind being treated badly, go enjoy the food, but expect any service.
