Where the Peking Duck is delectableEating Peking Duck is a great night out, especially at the Celestial Restaurant. The way to eat Peking Duck is to take a small pancake, put in the duck meat, add spring onions and add plum sauce, and roll it up. The bones are used to make duck soup, which you can slurp if you still have space in your tummy. Peking Duck is an pld-fashioned feast.
Famous for Beijing DuckBeijing Duck is a luxury, it takes a great deal of preparation to get the skin crispy, and the flesh moist. It should be served wrapped in small pancakes with spring onions and plum sauce. If you have never had Beijing Duck, you should try it here.
Good food, good serviceWe chose the Peking duck (of course) and it was delicious. As it takes a long time to prepare we ordered vegetables while we waited. The waitresses are so kind and not pushy. Enough food to eat and enough takeaway for another meal. On the downside, the decor has obviously been unchanged since the opening of the restaurant but then again, this doesn’t change the good quality of the food!
Very good Beijing duck 4 Stars++French ex expatriate married with a Taiwanese wife, we like to eat real Beijing duck (difficult to find in Paris) , we been there many time with friends and never disappointed. In a separate room, with an excellent service, and a very good price. Last time in June we booked this week End.
Green Onion PancakeClassmates from elementary school had the Wednesday get-together lunch here. Northern China cuisine. Famous for its Beijing duck. All dishes were delicious. The green onion pancake was excellent. The restaurant was clean and nicely air-conditioned. Service was great and attentive. Only about half of the tables were occupied. I was told that this restaurant used to get really busy in the old days. But there are many new restaurants so the old ones tends to be forgotten.
