    Best Buffet in Taipei

The Brasserie buffet next to the Regent Hotel in Taipei is truly outstanding. With 3 hot kitchens/selection of cold plate entries and a live bakery - it has something for everyone - no matter where you are from. I talked to locals while I was there, and they stated that it is as popular with the people from Taipei as well as the foreign guest. For coffee lovers, there is a wonderful self serve espresso. Service is great and the dinning area is spacious with large glass windows. Allow yourself at least an hour for breakfast.

Check in is easy. It is a surprise for the restaurant to bring happy birthday sweet. That is not what I expected. . The food is good . The juice is not good.Thestaff took the used dirty dish fast and keep the table space clean

    Sumptious and enjoyable

The variety and the quality were both high, the stuff was most helpful, the buffet presentation is very attractive, and the beer is free... I was slightly disappointed, though, that the desert selection was almost totally European in nature, with hardly any Taiwanese touch. The price is somewhat high by Taiwan standards, but the meal is definitely worth it.

Another good place for lunch buffet in Taipei

It was a great experience to have a nice buffet lunch at Brasserie in Regent Hotel, Taipei. Not only was the amount of choice of foods that had attracted our attention and enriched our appetite, the ambience and atmosphere inside the restaurant also played an important part. Sections of different foods at different stores served the choice for people with different appetites. Seafood and fish sasimi excelled others in their volumes and freshness, though the crabs and prawns were a big tiny! Roast steak with pepper flavour was a bit strong for ordinary eaters who couldn't stand the hot taste. But the roast pork was very good. However, there was a provision of draught beer which was good for beer-drinkers like me. Overall, the place has an atmosphere of elegance and waiting staff were friendly. Prices were reasonable. We sure will return next time we are in Taipei.

    Lunch & dinner

First impressions last, was very happy will initial greeting from the staff & shown particular stations on the way to being seated. The flavour & variety of food to choose from is excellent especially the sushi, sashimi station where the marinated fish was delicious. The day before we'd eaten at in paradise with fabulous views of Taipei 101(which you're welcome to also read the review of) but were very quickly overwhelmed by the better quality of selection & overall flavours we enjoyed at Brasserie.Really nice dishes included risotto, beef curry, creamy seafood, stuffed eggplant (super yummy),hot ham of the bone, roasted ribeye, tempura prawns & vegetables plus the dessert station was to die for. I enjoyed Brasserie so much we decided to go back for dinner the day before leaving Taiwan which was also my birthday. Unfortunately the warm greeting we'd received some day's earlier went astray but wasn't too bothered as was looking forward to another dinning experience. For the extra money you pay from lunch to dinner then again increased for the weekend , personally I'd just stick to lunch from Monday to Friday, not so much for the price factor but lack of choice. The only notable fact for dinner was oysters on the grill which I was impressed the chef done temperature control on but sadly he over seasoned them with garlic & completly over powered the flavour.I did mention this to another chef but walked away with the feeling it wasn't forwarded on. The oysters ran out extremely quickly also then there was considerable time waiting for the next batch to be available, this could be rectified if other customers had consideration for others or if management portion control amount per person. Overall I was very happy with the overall dinning experience on both occasions if I were too criticise anything it'd have to be the lack of warmth in personal service where a polite greeting & smile go along way
