MRT Information 
Taipei Rapid Transit System is currently the most convenient public transportation in Taipei City, with an average of 3–5 minutes between schedules, which is very comfortable and fast. Smoking and eating are not allowed in the MRT stations to be kept clean and beautiful. It is a favorite of Taipei office workers and students and a relaxing and convenient means of transportation for travelers from all directions.

Taking the MRT:

Since March 18, 2026, paper QR Code single-journey tickets have been available for purchase Taipei Metro stations, excluding those on the Circular Line.

Passengers may purchase QR Code single-journey tickets through the Go!Metro Taipei app. Paper QR Code tickets can be purchased at automatic ticket vending machines; in-app purchases support payment by credit card, LINE Pay, JKO Pay, Easy Wallet, and PXPay Plus.
QR Code single-journey tickets can now be used at New Taipei Metro Circular Line fare gates; however, ticket vending machines at these stations have not yet been enabled for QR Code ticket purchases.
 

Once you have your token, insert token into the slot on the ticket reader.  You can enter or exit the station after the beep.

Price is determined by distance. Be sure to double check ticket price for your destination.
