To broaden one’s historical understanding of Keelung River while doing outdoor activities, the explanation board next to Lin An-Tai Evacuation Gate on the left bank enables visitors to learn the origin and the river remediation of Keelung River.

Dajia Riverside Park is a reclamation ground created after the riverbed was filled with soil. There are wide-open spaces where the grassland stretches as far as the eye can see. The west part of the land was constructed into a metropolitan green park; the water play areas located in the section between Zhongshan Bridge and Dazhi Bridge are the most distinctive ones. The landmark “Fountain of Hope” has a fan-shaped water curtain that is as high as a 25-story building. The splendid water dance and bright colorful neon lights at night instantly make the entire riverside colorful and glamorous. With the classic brilliant red building of the Grand Hotel Taipei in the background, the scenery is exceptionally beautiful and memorable. It can be said that it is the best place for family gathering and dating in the City.

Visitors who enter the park through Meiti Evacuation Gate on the right bank may see the patterns and paintings on the retaining wall. The wall paintings are marvelous and dazzling, and the stories in the paintings carry the history of Keelung River. If you visit Keelung River at night, you even can see the glittering Ferris Wheel and the night view of Neihu Technology Park.

The Shuang River flows from Yangmingshan National Park, passes through Soochow University, and then turns at the north side of the road. The riverside green park also expands from there. The riverside bikeway was built on the left and right banks accordingly. In the network of Taipei riverside bike paths, it became the path that is closest to the residential area. Its cycling trails are well maintained, short and delicate.
