“Congrats and may you be blessed with forthcoming fortune!” With the upcoming Chinese New Year, the air is saturated with festive vibes; Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) has especially joined forces with Taipei City’s Guandu Temple to launch the God of Wealth Fortune Money limited edition theme ticket at 10:00 on January 16. The tickets will be on sale via 3 customized automatic ticket vending machines at the MRT Guandu Station. 30,000 tickets for each of the 3 limited edition theme tickets will be issued at NT$100 per ticket (with words such as Wealth, Fortune, and Money printed on top). The ticket holders are entitled to ride the Taipei Metro for 2 trips (unlimited distance), and each passenger may only purchase 2 tickets. In addition, the first 200 passengers to purchase the God of Wealth Fortune Money will also receive a bonus fortune packet containing a lucky charm, spring couplets, coin purse, and Chinese Zodiac picture book from the Guandu Temple, as well as delicacy souvenirs from Qsquare. TRTC has collaborated with the Guandu Temple for the first time to unveil the God of Wealth Fortune Money theme ticket on January 16. The tickets will be on sale via 3 customized automatic ticket vending machines at the MRT Guandu Station. 30,000 tickets for each of the 3 limited edition theme tickets will be issued (each vending machine sells one type of ticket), so hurry up if you wish to be blessed with good fortune. The colors of the tickets have been meticulously chosen: propitious red is used for the word Wealth at the center of the round ticket; the warm, optimistic color orange is applied for the word Fortune; glamorous golden color is chosen for the word Money. The round typeface engenders an endearing, plentiful demeanor that is complemented by the shape of Yuanbao (gold ingot) to accentuate the Chinese New Year’s vibes of peace, prosperity and abundant fortune.

God of Wealth Fortune Money theme ticket allows ticket holders to ride the Taipei Metro trains for 2 trips (unlimited distance), and they get to keep the tickets as a keepsake after using them. When purchasing the ticket, wait for the God of Wealth motif to appear on the customized ticket vending machine, you may select the Lucky Charm option to pray for blessings or you may select the Divination option to seek answers; those who choose the former will receive a playful lucky charm that brings them instant prosperity by affixing it to their property, and those who choose the latter will receive a divination poem from the Guandu Temple. Furthermore, in celebrating the Chinese New Year, the charm, divination poem or QR codes (choose one) is printed on red paper. Simply scan the QR code to store good luck and let everyone enjoy an auspicious Year of the Rat. Moreover, in order to let the public keep the God of Wealth Fortune Money theme ticket in a safe place, the MRT Guandu Station merchandise shop will be offering the lucky charm pendant from January 16 through 29 at NT$50 each. The pendant will also be on sale at the MRT Zhongshang Station merchandise shop starting from January 30. The pendant can be used for storing the ticket and divination poem, so that you may carry good luck with you wherever you go.

Early last year, TRTC and Bangka Longshan Temple jointly unveiled the Lucky Trip blessing ticket that was only on sale at the MRT Longshan Temple Station. The merchandise took the public by storm, with countless people lining up to purchase the Lucky Trip and generating enormous buzz on social media.
