The 2021 Confucian-style Gentlemen Summer Camp will take the form of online sessions this summer! Participants can enjoy fun DIY lessons while remaining safe by staying home.
Registration for the summer camp will kick-off at 10 AM on July 13. Those registering successfully will receive a free materials package mailed by the event organizer.
This year’s program features a brand-new “Speed Sketching Harmony” class. With pencil and paper, students will learn about the core concepts of sketching and basic knowledge of aesthetics. The theme of the class will focus on the beautiful decorations at the Confucius Temple, including those depicting flowers such as “Spring Peony,” “Summer Lotus,” “Autumn Chrysanthemum,” and “Winter Camellia.”
The popular class on paper filigree seeks to portray the beauty of temple architecture through quilling. Students will be able to observe the delicate crafting techniques of master craftsmen through the videos online, as well as step-by-step instructions. Thanks to around-the-clock access over the cloud learning platform, students can watch the videos on their own free time.

The “Arts and Digital Fun” class spotlights the pillars next to the pond at the Confucius Temple. From the square-shaped tiles of the temple to the three-dimensional image of a dice, students will learn about “8 segment tape” and cubes.
For more information on the classes, please visit the Chinese website of Taipei Confucius Temple or call the institution (TEL: 02-2592-3934, ext. 22 Ms. Chen). The online registration links for the classes are as follow:
