The Taipei Public Library (TPL) has issued a special call for old photos between August 1 and August 31. The institution is looking for pictures on things and people related to Taipei City.

Some of the focuses TPL is looking for this time include the follow: Midwife education school established during the Japanese Colonial Period; Tile production workshop from the early Nationalist Period; religious parades taking place in the streets of Muzha, and those depicting past memories in the area of traditions and customs.

According to TPL, these photos record the changes which took place within this city and recount the tracks of our predecessors. Despite the shift in time, many scenes in the past have been immortalized at the moment these shots were taken. Whether you are a longtime resident of the city or a temporary visitor, why not open up the dust-collecting album sitting on the shelf and share with us your piece of precious memory?

To encourage the public to submit photos, TPL offers participants whose photograph has been chosen a copyright fee between NT$300 and NT$6,000.
