In light of the ongoing 2022 Taipei Lantern Festival in Shilin District, the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park (TCAP) has extended business hours during this period to 10 PM to allow visitors enjoy more night hour rides and to watch the “Water and Fire” spectacle at the riverside stage from the park.

In addition to extending business hours between February 11 and 20, TCAP will also reopen Gate 2, enabling guests to enter and leave the amusement park from this exit for quicker access to the riverside park. For late visitors, no admission fee to TCAP is necessary after 4 PM. Also, to better serve patrons during in the evening, the stores at the food court will remain open up through 9 PM.
Finally, TCAP offers a special lantern-festival-only Starlight Ticket effective between 4 PM and 10 PM. For NT$120, ticket holders can access amusement rides No. 1 through No. 13 free of charge during these hours.
The venue of the 2022 Taipei Lantern Festival comprises the entire section connecting MRT Jiantan Station, MRT Shilin Station, and MRT Zhishan Station, as well as surrounding facilities such as TCAP, National Taiwan Science Education Center, Taipei Astronomical Museum, and Meilun Park. From the Ferris Wheel inside TCAP, riders will be able to enjoy a great view of the main riverside stage. Of course, there are numerous decorations inside TCAP to reflect the festive spirit as well.
The “Water and Fire Dance Together Sound and Light Theater” spectacle takes place at the riverside stage area during set times. The show combines projection, pyrotechnics, laser, illumination, and water jets to create visual effects. The hours are as follows:
February 11: 8:40 PM*, 9 PM, and 9:55 PM
February 12: 8:30 PM*, 9 PM, 9:30 PM, and 9:55 PM
February 13 – February 20: 6 PM, 6:30 PM, 7 PM, 7:30 PM, 8 PM*, 8:30 PM, 9 PM, 9:30 PM, and 9:55 PM

Visitors are reminded that pandemic prevention measures are in place at TCAP. Precautions such as contact-tracing registration, face mask, temperature-taking, and social distancing are required. Alcohol-based handrubs are also available at various locations inside the park. All staff members are equipped with face mask and protective gears, and facilities undergo disinfection on regular basis to ensure the health of visitors.
