In the interest of promoting Taipei’s beef noodle eateries, the Taipei City Office of Commerce (TCOOC) joined force with the Taipei Beef Noodle Development Association to organize the 2022 Taipei International Beef Noodle Competition.
This year’s contest comprises two divisions: “Freshly-served” and “Prepared Meal”. The organizers invite stores which have been open for over one month and possess valid commercial registration, company registration, or business registration licenses to sign up.
The deadline for entry is August 31. The Beef Noodle Carnival and the press conference announcing the results of this year’s contest will take place at the Corridor Plaza of Taipei Expo Park Yuanshan Area on September 17 and 18.

Deputy Mayor Huang Shan-shan remarked that Taipei City Government have invested much effort into the promotion of beef noodles. Starting in 2015, it assisted the Taipei Beef Noodle Development Association in organizing marketing campaigns to promote the local beef noodle industry. The 2022 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival has expanded in size this year to highlight the competitiveness of local beef noodle stores and attract gourmets to visit Taipei.
Chairman Hung Chin-lung of the association pointed out that due to the pandemic, the competition added the “Prepared Meal” division to emphasize the fact that customers also have the choice of enjoying tasty beef noodles at home. He encourages traditional beef noodle shops to diversify their operations as well.
