During the summer in July and August is the most active time for dragonflies. At the in-Rui Flood Management Park, Neihu, the diverse water environment, such as the retaining basin, shallow beaches under the woods, hills and streams provide the most favorite habitats for dragonflies.

According to the record, there are as many as 61 kinds of dragonflies here, more than one-third of the dragonfly species in Taiwan. Wow, it’s magnificent!

In addition, there are 16 kinds of frogs, 58 kinds of birds, 118 kinds of butterflies, etc. The diverse ecology and tranquil environment in the park is an ideal place for leisure and relaxation.

In Jin-Rui, there are dragonflies like the # dream dragonfly (rarely seen in Taiwan), Rhyothemis triangularis, Rhyothemis regia regia, Gomphidia confluens Selys, Merogomphus paviei, Tholymis tillarga, Gynacantha japonica, Planaeschna ishigakiana flavostria and more. 

The most frequently seen dragonflies in Jin-Rui throughout the year are as follows: 
Ceriagrion latericium ryukyuanum, Paracercion calamorum dyeri, Acisoma panorpoides, Neurothemis taiwanensis, Orthetrum glaucum, Orthetrum pruinosum neglectum, Orthetrum triangulare, Trithemis aurora, Trithemis festiva, Copera marginipes, etc.
