The cherry blossoms at Lohas Park are entering the blooming season after the Lantern Festival, and the public is eager to snap away with cameras, capturing the most beautiful moments of the blossoms! According to the Parks and Street Lights Office (PSLO), the Lohas Cherry Blossom Walkway has become a well-known location in Taipei to enjoy the.
cherry blossoms. The walkway was established under the joint efforts of the Chief of Kangle Village (Neihu District) and Neigou River Beautification Association, with the PSLO having recently installed 32 additional park lights to illuminate the walkway after dark between 6 and 10 PM. Come take a walk in the Park after work; it just gets prettier!
Director Huang Li-Yuan of PSLO noted that the Office installed power-saving LED lights to allow better viewing of the cherry blossoms at night, which look even more dazzling under the lights. Needless to say, the place has attracted many photography enthusiasts during the flowering season. According to Director Huang, the best angle for taking photos is entering the walkway from Kangle Street and heading upstream of Neigou River, which will offers the best coverage to both the walkway and the blossoms. To minimize the impact of visitors upon the local residents, the park lights will operate only between 6 PM and 10 PM. This policy also contributes to energy conservation and carbon reduction, and calls for the cooperation of the public.
Maintenance of the Park and green requires joint effort by the public. The PSLO reminds the public to help keep our parks green and full of blossoms by respecting every plant and tree; do not trample on the green, or pick flowers when taking pictures and moving inside the Park.
This way, we can all enjoy the magnificent blossoms of the Cherry Blossom Walkway every year!
