Three Coins Restaurant 大三元酒樓

Anchor point
No. 46, Hengyang Rd., Zhongzheng Dist., Taipei City Taiwan, R.O.C

Three Coins is a multi-purpose restaurant that combines cuisines and tradition in an artistic setting. Despite its inconspicuous, gray-hued exterior, the surprisingly spacious interior of Three Coins oozes elegance with a gold palette, a carefully arranged dining area and visual effects. To ensure customer satisfaction, each table is manned by a member of the large waiting staff to render timely services.

Driven by a persistent pursuit of culinary excellence, the restaurant developed a long-lasting reputation with freshly prepared, modern-style Cantonese dishes and heavenly dim sum based on a mixture of Eastern and Western recipes. The must-try of Three Coins is the papaya and seafood gratin, a half-salty, half-sweet treat made from sweet, small green papaya fruits and rich cheese.

We came for family gathering. Old deco, older service staffs & old school food lead us a time travel. Food isn’t bad, but a big room for more delicate. Best dish is the abalone soup with egg white on the bottom. 我們是家庭聚餐在這裡吃飯,老派裝潢、稍老服務人員、老派的菜式讓我們有個時光之旅,食物不差,但是細緻度仍有空間,記憶度最高的是金湯蛋白鲍

Not worth the money - not even close.

We ordered 7 or 8 dishes and at best, 1 or two were good but those were way over priced for what they were.

Ambience is ok. Service is good. Food is below average. Pork ribs were served like warm (cooked before hand and warm up when we ordered). Fish was cooked not to the way we ordered. Can skip.

    Excellent Cantonese food!

We had dinner here with colleagues and enjoyed a variety of cantonese and non-cantonese dishes. All excellent as the services was. Especially the Peking style duck was superb!

    Very good Cantonese style food.

The restaurant name is 八三元. I went with Taiwanese friends, who did the ordering. I am not sure if they have a menu in English, It is worth the effort, nonetheless. Everything was perfectly cooked, delicately flavoured and impeccably served. I particularly liked the rich and precious shrimp 富貴明蝦球 and the green beans with wrappers.
