The 2022 Eid al-Fitr celebration in Taipei will take place at Daan Forest Park on May 8. In response to the pandemic, the organizers have set up two entry-control areas at the venue: one at the amphitheater area and another at the meadow theater. Only individuals with proof of a 2 or more COVID-19 vaccine shots are allowed to enter.

Accepted proof of vaccination include: (1) NHI card with stickers showing vaccine shot dates; (2) COVID-19 vaccination card – also known as the yellow card; (3) Digital COVID-19 Certificate, or (4) NHI My Health Bank app.

Commissioner Liu Yi-ting of the Department of Tourism and Information (TPEDOIT) added that in addition to proof of being vaccinated with 2 or more shots, participants are also required to wear face mask, take temperature, disinfect hands, and refrain from eating and drinking during the event. The two information desks at the venue will also provide hand sanitizer, disinfectant alcohol, temperature guns, and other tools for the convenience of participants. All portable restrooms will be equipped with soap, and water stations will available for washing hands.
 
Between 10 AM and 5 PM on the day of the event, visitors can enter via Entrance 9 of Daan Forest Park and visit over 20 stalls at the temporary fair grounds offering a wide variety of Muslim groceries and household items. For the inaugural outdoor movie event, the organizing will be playing the films “Help is on the Way” and “Secret Superstar.” There are also booths with info on Arabic calligraphy, oud, and book exchange. The main stage event with Agoeng serving as emcee will feature performances by artists such as Ricky Hu, Uniband, Fildan Rahayu, and more!
 
The organizers will also hand out queue numbers at a location near the main stage before 1:30 PM. For those who are lucky enough to pick up a queue number, he or she will only need to show a proof of vaccination to collect a limited-edition Mosque-shape EasyCard from Mayor Ko Wen-je! Only 200 EasyCards will be given away, so act fast! In addition, people who complete an event-related survey will also receive one Eid al-Fitr commemorative face mask.
 
TPEDOIT reminds those planning to attend the 2022 Eid al-Fitr celebration in Taipei to follow pandemic prevention guidelines and pay attention to their own health. For those under house isolation/house quarantine/self-health management, he or she should not attend the event if experiencing symptoms such as fever, respiratory issues, diarrhea, or abnormalities with smell/taste.
